Story & Lesson Highlights with Jennifer Somkovic of Beach

We recently had the chance to connect with Jennifer Somkovic and have shared our conversation below.

Jennifer, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
One of the recent highlights that made me both laugh and beam with pride was stepping in front of the camera for Beekman1802’s latest campaign, featuring their new face masks and SPF. Between the glow-boosting skincare and the lighthearted moments on set (yes, there were plenty of giggles in between takes), it reminded me why I love modeling in the beauty space so much. There’s something special about collaborating with a brand that blends science with kindness, while also letting personality shine through. The end result? Gorgeous skin, unforgettable memories, and a project I’ll always feel proud to have been part of.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jennifer, the creator behind Blonde25 on Instagram — my space to share all things beauty, lifestyle, and family. What started as a passion project has grown into a community of over 400,000 people who love discovering products that actually work, while still celebrating the little everyday joys.
Modeling for Beekman1802’s newest face masks and SPF was such a proud moment for me. It was professional and polished, but also full of laughter behind the scenes. Collaborating with a brand that stands for kindness and skin health felt like such a natural fit, and it reminded me why I love doing what I do. I’m continuing to grow Blonde25 into a brand that inspires confidence, wellness, and joy. I’m working on more partnerships that align with those values, while keeping my content approachable and relatable. My goal is always to create a space where people can feel inspired, informed, and reminded that beauty should feel fun and empowering.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Honestly, my kids have shaped me into who I am today — both in beauty and in life. Becoming a mother taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of self-care. They reminded me that beauty isn’t about perfection, but about feeling confident in your own skin and embracing the real, everyday moments. That perspective has completely influenced how I create content and connect with my audience.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
It happened when I realized that hiding my struggles was only making me feel smaller, while sharing them could actually help me — and others — grow stronger. For a long time, I thought beauty meant looking perfect and keeping everything polished. But becoming a mother and going through my own challenges shifted that perspective. My kids taught me that strength comes from honesty and resilience.
Instead of covering up the hard moments, I started weaving them into my story. That’s when Blonde25 really transformed — it became more than just a beauty platform; it became a space to celebrate authenticity. Pain turned into power the moment I saw it as part of my strength, not a weakness. And now, when I connect with my audience, I know that being real about my journey is what makes my work meaningful.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The truth is, yes — but it’s a version of me that’s curated through the lens of what I choose to share. On Blonde25, you see my love for beauty, skincare, and the joyful moments of family life, and all of that is authentic. But like anyone else, there are layers that go deeper — the struggles, the lessons, and the quiet moments that don’t always make it to the feed. I’ve learned that both sides are real: the polished version that celebrates confidence and creativity, and the private version shaped by challenges, growth, and resilience. Together, they make up the whole picture of who I am, and I think that balance is what keeps my story genuine.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I hope people tell about me when I’m gone is that I lived with authenticity, kindness, and purpose. I want to be remembered not just for the beauty content I created, but for the way I made people feel — inspired, uplifted, and understood. I hope my kids will say that I showed them how to turn challenges into strength, and that my audience will remember me as someone who wasn’t afraid to be real while still finding joy in the everyday moments. More than anything, I hope the story told about me is that I encouraged others to see their own beauty, inside and out, and to never be afraid of shining in their own unique way.
