Today we’d like to introduce you to Van-Adam Pierre.
Hi, Van-Adam. I am so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
It wasn’t an easy journey, but it was worth every moment. I started music at the age of 12. My Mom & Dad were the ones who initially got me into music; they both got me a guitar & I joined the guitar club at my elementary school; then, once I showed progress, my Dad put me in an actual guitar school. I was even accepted into a music magnet program before starting middle school. However, the instrument phase died down due to my inability to read music, although I did keep my admiration for creating sounds. As far as writing lyrics, I have my mom, cousins, and a late uncle for that introduction. I was always into reading & writing, starting several stories I would have loved to make books. The fusion of my love for writing and creating melodies forwarded my dreams toward actual music, specifically Rap music. My passion & devotion to this introduced me to all types of people who either did music or already had an establishment within the music industry. I would say each of these individuals helped me move forward. Taking risks & knowing when to act was also rewarding for the journey.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not, but those moments made it all worthwhile in retrospect; not knowing what would happen next & continuing with it regardless helped keep my morale up. Facing challenging times also steered me in the right direction, thanks to my passion. One struggle was navigating the music industry in itself. My perspective of what it might be was two ways of life. But continuing despite the challenges propelled me in ways I wouldn’t have had access to had I looked at things the way I was told to.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I would say I’m a musical, creative & entrepreneur. Those would fit what I feel like I bring to the table. I mix myself with marketing & promoting as well as music production. I’m an all-around professional when creating a product someone wants to display; I have no official accolades yet, but the ones who know definitely might agree.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories would have to be performing & playing the guitar at a banquet my mom held & put together when I first moved to Jacksonville. It was a Christmas banquet, and she worked hard to put it together, so I was prepared to ensure the audience was impressed. I can’t say I’ve ever had stage fright; I’ve learned how to control the crowd, but basking in that moment and making my mom look good made the moment for me. I want to make my parents proud, you know? And moments like that stay tucked in my heart.
