Today we’d like to introduce you to Marshay Melvin
Hi Marshay, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a girly girl always playing on makeup and officially wearing makeup soon as I hit high school. I was inspired by different makeup artists on social media and thought to start applying makeup on other people to practice my skills. The only thing that was not common about those makeup artists is they did not have or use their own products. It was always the popular brands which was MAC or NARZ.. so I took a pond myself to start my own cosmetic line that is vegan and we only use legal vegan products to create my own personal cosmetic products. This is how Elegant Glams Cosmetics LLC came about. 🙂
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting off announcing that you have your Own cosmetic brand is HUGE! My first opening (online store) was great! Then it started to slow down due to people not really shopping online or “clicking the link”. So then I thought of other ways to try to get my business out there and seen, so I came up with signing up for Pop Up shops. Pop up shops where Awesome! I got a lot of love from people just know that I have my own cosmetic brand..
You will have struggles with starting a new business because there aren’t always pop up shops all the time. So now I have to figure out how I’m going to continue to have my business in peoples face to be seen.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently a Medical Assistant, planning to go back to school for my dental hygiene AS degree
