Rising Stars: Meet Lisa Struble of Ponte Vedra Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Struble.

Lisa Struble

Hi Lisa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always enjoyed fashioning jewelry; through the years, I have crafted many pieces for family and friends. About fifteen years ago, while on a weekend campout, I taught some techniques to the girls in my Girl Scout Troop. They tapped into their creative side and made necklaces for Mother’s Day gifts. Recently, I saw one of the mothers wearing the necklace she received. While on a mission trip to Costa Rica in 2012, my daughter Lauren and I hosted a jewelry workshop. The native teenage girls and even their mothers were so excited to learn a new skill. Since this skill could provide a small income for their family, I decided to leave my inventory and pliers at the mission house. Afterward, life became quite busy with family responsibilities and traveling for Lauren’s softball tournaments. At this time, I took a step back from creating. Years later, after she had graduated, I dabbled in painting for a while. I thoroughly enjoyed the art of painting, and it provided an outlet that I had been missing. I was surprised to realize that it had reignited a spark in me! Then, in January 2022, with my husband’s support and encouragement of friends, I launched my passion for creating jewelry into a business.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting any new business has its challenges. Doing so on the heels of COVID certainly compounded my struggles. The cost of inventory, the supply chain, and where to sell my products were all affected. A local artisan and friend, Kelly Geer, of Blue Sky Creative, has mentored me along the way. For which I am immensely grateful! In March of 2022, after much time and hard work, my friend, Dr. Leslie Taylor, DDS, of New Day Soap LLC, and I launched the re-opening of the much loved and greatly missed Palm Valley Market! The market is held every Tuesday, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, inside and on the front property of the Palm Valley Community Center – 148 Canal Blvd, Ponte Vedra Beach, 32082. We pride ourselves on being a great source for organically grown and newly harvested produce, nutrient-rich microgreens, grass-finished beef, all-natural chicken & eggs, freshly baked whole-grain and preservative-free bread, local honey, tea and premier artisans. We are very grateful to the Community Center’s Board for hosting the weekly market and to the community that supports our vendors and artisans.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The Lord is My Shepherd – LMS Jewelry Designs by Lisa Struble, is a collection of Handcrafted and Spirit-inspired, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces that reflect my love of God and my faith in Him, as my Savior. Each design is unique, using semi-precious metals and various natural gemstones. Nothing completes an outfit like the perfect piece of jewelry! I strive to keep my prices between $18 – $118. This distinguished collection of pieces is available for immediate purchase, but custom orders are welcome.

Any big plans?
Currently, my jewelry is sold at local artisan markets and pop-ups. My goal for 2024, is to expand LMS Jewelry Designs and have it available in local boutiques. Last year, I lost a dear friend, Linda, and my father-in-law to the cruel, debilitating disease of Parkinson’s. Linda had early onset Parkinson’s, and through the years, she battled it heroically! The morning of her Celebration of Life Service, I designed a necklace that I felt reflected how she faced each day. April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, and I plan to contribute all the profits from the sale of this necklace to Parkinson’s research in her memory.
