Rising Stars: Meet Karina Pimentel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karina Pimentel. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Karina is a multifaceted Colombian woman. She is a military wife and new mother to her four-month-old baby Everest. She completed her Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Florida International University with a major in Finance and has extensive experience in Office and Event Management. Her passions include music production and songwriting, singing, dancing, and performing. She was also the queen of the Carnaval de Barranquilla USA in Miami in 2015. Now she enjoys sharing her journey toward finding balance and happiness through a healthy and active lifestyle, animal activism, yoga, music, and movement arts.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“It’s usually never a smooth road when trying to accomplish so many dreams and goals, but it’s always worth it! Some of the challenges we’ve experienced as a military family are moving around so much, starting over in new places, making new friends, and being far away from family. But everywhere we go becomes our home, as long as we are together, we always make the best of every situation, enjoying the process along the way!”

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
“My artistic work started at a young age, writing songs, dancing, and eventually learning music production. I was the lead singer in two South Florida bands and collaborated on many songs with local DJs and producers. My biggest passion is performing at shows and events. I have experience playing with a live band, singing, dancing, doing aerial silks, and acro yoga acts. I currently have a music album called “Journey” and several other singles out on all the digital music platforms under my artist name “Kay Vixn.” I am also known for being behind the scenes, helping with the logistics of promotional and private events around Florida.”

Let’s end by discussing what matters most to you and why.
“Right now, my new baby boy Everest matters to me most! He is my whole world and the sweetest joy I could have ever dreamed of. I love spending all my time with him, watching him grow and seeing the world again through his eyes.”
