Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellisha Griffith.
Hi Ellisha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I have always loved writing from a very young age; writing was the only way how I could express how I felt and what was going on in my mind. I started off writing songs, then went on to writing poetry. Over the years, I would keep a journal to write down my thoughts or things that I went through, even ways to improve myself and set goals; having a book was one of the goals. I wanted to achieve, but to be honest, I didn’t know where to start. It’s true when they say life works in mysterious ways. The idea to write and publish my first book started during the worldwide lockdown, and now I have my second book one and half years later.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
Nothing in life comes easy, and being a writer is not a smooth road. My challenge in life is trying to find balance; sometimes, I get caught up in my mind. Sometimes I feel insecure about my work because I feel no one will like what I write. I think people will even buy my book. Will I have the time to finish unfinished work? These are questions I ask myself now and then. There are times when I even isolate myself from the outside world. We all go through challenges and obstacles, but we can’t let that stop us from reaching our goals or even doing the small things in life. We are on this journey to make mistakes, learn, grow and empower each other with love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an entrepreneur, author, and esthetician. I wouldn’t say that I specialize in a specific thing because I put my love and effort into whatever I enjoy doing. I enjoy learning how to be a better person. I am known for having a positive outlook on life, no matter how hard it may get. I am proud of myself for not giving up, even when it seems cloudy. I have come a long way and still have so many more journeys to travel. Publishing my second book is truly an amazing feeling. I enjoy writing and inspiring other people. Writing gives me the opportunity to express what I feel and the things I went through, going through, and my process of dealing with life.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Your motivation to make it is different when you have been through many obstacles in life. You’re doing it for yourself because you know where you’re coming from. Having a spiritual connection with God, Mother nature, or whatever you want to call it is what continues to give me the strength to keep going. Secondly, the love I have for my daughter. I want to show her that we can always achieve our goals no matter what happens in life. I want to thank all the people who support me in whatever way, big or small. My close friends and family thank you for always pushing me and reminding me of my potential.
