Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Suarez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, I had a good friend at the time whose mom recently took over a nail salon In Walmart. I would catch rides with her to her mom’s nail salon and would watch them work. First, I would sweep the floor, then I graduated to painting little girls’ nails for fun. After high school, her mom have seen how dedicated I was and offered to pay for my nail class and license. 14 years later I am the proud owner of Polish Me Pretty Nails by Camille.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Smooth? What’s that lol. Everyone has a story. Mine is just different. I thought I was an adult and moved out of my mom’s house to be with my boyfriend at the time while she was at work when I was 18. I got a car under my name for him. Two years later he kicked me out and dropped me off in the car I got him at a friend’s house. The same woman who paid for my nail class and license offered me a place to stay. I gained 40 pounds in one year. I was depressed. My friend and her mom help me get back on my feet. Determined not to move back home with my mom I slowly started building my life back. The following year I lost all the weight I gained, got my driver’s license, got my own car, started school, and moved out. Met someone new and got pregnant. Lost my job. Had some run-ins with the law. Hit rock bottom again. This bottom was different. I had no one to help me out. I knew there was only one person that could fix it. God. Fast forward to 2022. Married. 3 beautiful children and a successful business owner. If there was anything I could take away from my journey it’s that every situation gave me experiences no matter sweet or bitter.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My name is Camille Suarez and I am a Nail Extension Specialist and Master Manicurist. I specialize in cuticle care. My mission is to serve you and take care of all your cuticle needs while polishing your nails pretty. I am known for cuticle care! I feel like the most important part of getting your nails done are the cuticles! They help protect the nail plate. Without them, it’s impossible to get your nails done. There are many nail salons out there where you have multiple people working on you at one time. You don’t understand what they are saying. There is a disconnect. You get the “quick and go” service. When you enter by suite you get a one-on-one experience. It’s just you and I. I take my time. I listen. I am your unofficial therapist lol. By the time you leave, we would have laughed some. Cried some. Ate a lil and talked A LOT. oh and your nails? SLAYED! I love your polish to be pretty. I offer nail extensions, manicures, and pedicures. I also offer one on one classes if you are thinking about becoming a nail technician.
