Rising Stars: Meet Alex Verastegui of Jacksonville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Verastegui.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been in sales most of my life and had an opportunity to come to Jacksonville in an account development position for a travel firm. After 9 years in the position, I was given an option to either return to NY and they’ll match my cost of living but I was sold on Jacksonville. Not only have I become better in sales but also in understanding my purpose. I’m a natural motivator and I needed to continue exploring my ambition. I went on to work in a few sales position jobs in which I excelled, however, I continued to search for my curiosity of becoming a better person. I arrived in the Real Estate industry in which I found my drive and lead-by example attitude was needed and here I am.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been tough and easier as I continue to find the next version of me. The tough part is getting stuck in a version of you and not being open enough to move past that version. I got comfortable in a position that was hard at first (interviewing, training, coaching, etc) and then it became easier and provided enough funds to keep me interested. Thinking outside of my own box and to leave this environment was tough since it was something I knew and handled.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a realtor and specialize in solution based real estate for those who have problems understanding the probability of getting things done by looking at options that many don’t believe they have.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Helping others has been my reward and when someone believes in them, that’s all they need in life most of the time.
