Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriane’ (Bounce) Tate
Hi Adriane’ (Bounce), can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Bounce! I moved to Jacksonville,Florida in 2017 from Chicago Illinois alone in hopes of taking my passion of dance further. I started out making simple online dance videos which connected me to many of dancers. I started taking multiple trainings and classes that inspired me to figure out what’s my style and what makes me different. Through that period I became the “the girl who makes the music videos”! It’s all about telling my story through movement and staying connected to my roots while still being able to inspire others to express themselves through dance, leaving an impact for a lifetime.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely been a very hard journey. I was 21 years old when I moved to Florida. I moved here without any family. Til this day I am without family. I built my name from the ground on up. No one knew me. I had to advocate for myself, show up, and show out. I never knew how things would turn out for me. I had no idea honestly on where to even start. There is always obstacles and hard times but through faith and support of many in my dance community helped inspire me to keep pushing. If I don’t have a plan I have no one here to turn on so I always felt that having to go home because I “couldn’t handle being on my own” was not an option for me. No matter how dark the days may have been i never let it defeat me or stop me from chasing my dreams. Nor has it deterred me from finding my purpose in this world. I come from a strong family. My parents have always supported me and so for that they have always been my motivation to keep going. My family deserves to be proud and know that they have truly raised a star. Bad days don’t last forever, but it’s how you overcome them that makes you unstoppable.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am professional Hip Hop Choreographer/ Back Up Dancer. I also am the creator of “Bounced Productions” which is where I create professional dance videos and live performances. I mix fresh ideas with staying true to my roots. I’m always pushing myself to try new things while keeping my style real and raw. My style blends Chicago hip-hop’s raw, street energy with the sharp precision and flair of majorette. Chicago hip-hop is all about strong, bold moves, while majorette brings in a sense of rhythm and grace. I love how these styles challenge me to be both fierce and fluid, and they inspire me to keep it real while pushing my creativity. This sets me apart from others because I am not a gate keeper. No matter how good you are at something there is always room for improvement and there is always room to share the knowledge with others. I am extremely big on community and I am one of the few dancers in Jacksonville that ALWAYS can pull the dancers together. I was raised learning that family is important. We may not dance the same styles or even have the same dance journey, however we all share the same love for what we do which is DANCE. Through my projects/productions I am always shining the light on how much talent is here in Jacksonville.
