Today we’d like to introduce you to Zipporah Plummer.
Hi Zipporah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Anxiously Amazing actually existed as a name before it ever became the name of my business.
For years, I lived with severe anxiety without knowing that was what I was experiencing. By the time I was finally able to see a therapist, I genuinely felt like I was going insane because I didn’t understand why my mind and body responded to certain situations the way they did. Receiving a diagnosis was actually a huge relief. For the first time, I had an answer for what I had been experiencing, and more importantly, I had tools and solutions to help me navigate it.
During one of my therapy sessions, my therapist told me, “Don’t let the anxiety define who you are.” That statement stayed with me. From that point forward, I decided I was no longer going to see myself simply as the girl with severe anxiety. I was **Anxiously Amazing**. Anxiety was something I experienced, but it wasn’t all of who I was.
Eventually, I decided to give that name to my business because it represented me so perfectly. I’ve always been creative, and designing, organizing ideas, developing brands, and helping other people bring their visions together are things that genuinely ease my mind. What started as creativity and something therapeutic for me gradually developed into a business where I could use those same skills to help other people.
I’m completely self-taught, so a lot of my journey has involved learning through experience, trial and error, research, and continuously improving my craft. I’m constantly researching new techniques, industry trends, tools, and best practices because I never want to become complacent in what I know. I want the quality of my work to continue growing as I do.
More recently, resume and career services have become a much larger part of Anxiously Amazing. That growth came in large part through networking with **Nurse Memwa and her Bicoastal Nursing platform**, which introduced my resume services to a much broader community of nurses. That opportunity helped me recognize just how much demand there was for strategic, professionally written resumes—especially for nurses navigating competitive job markets and unique career situations. It has allowed me to strengthen that side of my business while continuing to offer select business development and creative design services.
The business has also evolved alongside me personally. I’ve gone through seasons where I had to step back, rebuild, change direction, and let go of services that no longer aligned with where I wanted Anxiously Amazing to go. Those experiences taught me that growth doesn’t always mean doing more—it can also mean becoming more intentional.
Today, Anxiously Amazing is becoming much bigger than the creative outlet it started as. I’m continuing to grow my resume and business development services while expanding into digital products and resources that help people confidently build things for themselves. At the heart of everything, though, the meaning has stayed the same. Anxiously Amazing is about creating, growing, and showing up with clarity, calm, and confidence.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been having more ideas than I currently have the time or financial resources to execute. I have so many ideas for how I want to expand and develop Anxiously Amazing, but building a business while working two jobs, raising four children, and continuing my own educational and professional development requires a lot of balance.
There are times when I know exactly what I want the next step of the business to be, but I have to be realistic about what I can financially invest in or how much time I can dedicate to making it happen. That can be frustrating, especially when you’re excited about an idea and ready to see it come to life.
I’ve also had to build the business while learning how to navigate severe anxiety and major changes in my personal life. There have been seasons when I’ve had to step back, scale down, rebuild, or completely rethink what I wanted Anxiously Amazing to become.
Being self-taught comes with its own challenges as well. I’m constantly researching, learning, experimenting, and improving my craft, and sometimes that means making mistakes before figuring out what works. I’ve also learned that just because I *can* provide a service doesn’t necessarily mean it belongs in my business.
The journey has required a lot of patience, flexibility, and redirection. I may not be able to bring every idea to life as quickly as I would like, but I’m continuing to build Anxiously Amazing in a way that makes sense for my life, my family, and the future I envision for the brand.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Anxiously Amazing?
Anxiously Amazing is a creative business development brand focused on helping people show up with more clarity, calm, and confidence. My goal has always been to make things feel less overwhelming for my clients, whether they are applying for a new job, building a brand, or trying to bring a business idea to life.
My services currently include resume and career services, logo design, landing page design, product label design, and other select creative business services. Resume services have recently become one of the fastest-growing areas of my business, especially within the nursing community. Through networking with Nurse Memwa and her Bicoastal Nursing platform, I’ve been able to work with more nurses pursuing staff, travel, specialty, and bicoastal career opportunities. I focus heavily on creating resumes that are ATS-friendly, strategic, individualized, and actually reflect the client’s experience instead of simply making their information look pretty on a page.
What sets Anxiously Amazing apart is how personal and intentional I am with the work. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I research, ask questions, pay attention to the details, and continuously educate myself so that the service I provide is not only visually appealing but also functional and purposeful. I want my clients to walk away feeling like something that once felt stressful or confusing has become much easier to navigate.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the fact that Anxiously Amazing has been able to evolve without losing the meaning behind it. The business has changed, my services have changed, and I have changed, but the foundation remains the same. It was created from something that once made me feel limited and turned into something that allows me to create, help others, and continue building toward something bigger.
I also want people to know that I’m still growing. I have plans to expand Anxiously Amazing through digital products and additional business resources so that I can help people beyond one-on-one services. My vision is for Anxiously Amazing to become a brand people can turn to when they need support creating, developing, or presenting something with clarity, calm, and confidence.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice is to have patience with yourself and with the process. Everything is not going to happen as quickly as you want it to, and that doesn’t mean it isn’t working.
Eliminate distractions, even when that means creating distance from people who no longer align with where you’re trying to go. Protect your time, your energy, and your vision. There will be frustrating days, disappointing days, and days when you question everything. Cry when you need to, regroup, and keep going.
Most importantly, never give up on an idea simply because it takes longer or becomes harder than you expected. You didn’t think of that idea for no reason. Give yourself the opportunity to see what it can become.
That’s probably what I wish I understood more when I started: you do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Start, learn, adjust, and execute.
