Meet Shauna Fisher of The Hair Life Beauty Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shauna Fisher.

Hi Shauna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has always been about so much more than hair. I have always been a creative person, and I discovered very early on that I love helping people feel good about themselves. That passion led me to cosmetology school, and I’ve now been a licensed cosmetologist for 15 years.

Over the years, I learned doing great hair isn’t just about creating a beautiful style – it’s about building confidence. Whether someone is sitting in my chair for a silk press, luxury install or a loc retwist, my goal is for them to leave feeling seen, empowered, and more confident than when they arrived.

My path has not been a straight line. I am currently balancing a full time career in corporate America for 14 years, currently continuing my education, being a wife and mom and building my business The Hair Life Beauty Lounge through seasons that required a lot of prayer, faith, resilience, and consistency. All of these experiences have taught me that success doesn’t come overnight – it’s about showing up, learning, adapting, and refusing to give up on the vision God placed in your heart!

I’ve been the owner of The Hair Life Beauty Lounge for the past 5 years where I provide a personalized, one-on-one experience focused on healthy hair, good vibes and exceptional service. I’m also wanting to grow beyond the chair into a lifestyle brand – The Pretty Life which reflects my passion for beauty, confidence, creativity, and helping women embrace every part of who they are.

Looking back, every challenge and every opportunity has prepared me for this season. I’m still growing, still learning and still dreaming big – but I’m also grateful show where I am right now and that I get to do work that allows me to make women feel beautiful, inside and out!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No – it definitely has not been a smooth road, but I would change one thing about my journey because it’s shaped who I am today.

I have experienced moments of self doubt, fear, financial challenges, and the pressure of balancing it all. Building a business while being a full time career woman, continuing my education and participating in school activities, and being a wife and mother of 3 requires a lot of intentionality. I definitely questioned whether I was making the right choice, if I was making enough progress or if I was spreading myself too thin.

A few big lessons I have learned on this journey is that success is not about working harder – it’s about working with purpose. Comparison is a thief – everyone’s journey is different. And the biggest lesson of all – faith has to be your foundation – believe that your purpose is worth the work, the sacrifice and worth pursuing and watch it all come together in the end!

As you know, we’re big fans of The Hair Life Beauty Lounge. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Hair Life Beauty Lounge is a luxury, one-one-one salon experience where healthy hair is always the priority. I specialize in silk presses, loc maintenance & luxury install. Through this I am helping women achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy hair without compromising its integrity.

What sets me apart is the personalized experience each client receives. I intentionally work with one client at a time, allowing me to give that client my full attention in a relaxing, private environment, From consultation to finishing touches, I want every woman who sits in my chair to feel valued, heard, and confident.

I love making people look beautiful – but it’s whats inside that truly makes me happy. I love helping people reconnect with their inner beauty which ignites their confidence. Healthy hair is the foundation, but the experience is about making each client feel beautiful, empowered, and cared for.

I love the reputation that I have built through consistence and genuine relationships. Many of my clients have trusted me with their hair for years because they know I’ll always prioritize the health of their above all else and I don’t take that trust for granted.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am always looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally. Podcasts are YouTube are some of my favorites because I can listen while I drive or work. I enjoy content that’s centered around entrepreneurship, branding, marketing, healthy hair, and personal development.

I’m big on community as well – so I love speaking with other entrepreneurs within the hair space or having mentors that have built businesses while balancing life, family, faith, etc. Hearing other people’s stories reminds me of the different paths life takes us on and that success comes through consistency and perseverance.

My faith is my biggest and best resource. Spending time with God helps me to stay focused on my purpose, especially during the difficult times. Success is also about becoming the person you’re called to be while -also serving others.

More than anything, I stay curious. Whether it’s taking a class, learning a new technique I, reading about branding, or finding inspiration through creative content, I believe there’s always something new to learn.
