Meet Rachel Yancey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Yancey.

Hi Rachel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started out watching my dad cut hair behind the chair and knew I wanted to one day do the same. My parents wanted me to go to college. So I did, for graphic design. I worked doing that for a bit and was miserable behind the computer. I knew this was the time to go to hair school.

So I went! I’ve been behind the chair since. I’ve done extensions since the beginning, each year perfecting my craft even further. I continue to take education classes and certifications as well as teach classes on the art of installing hair extensions. I’ve specialized in extensions over the last 12 plus years. I always have something brewing so you have to tune in!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing good comes easy. I try to always stay focused on my goals to steadfast through the noise of life.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a hairstylist and I specialize in the art of installing hair extensions. I’m most proud for continuing to educate myself and perfect my craft continuously over the years. It has helped to set me apart and provide top-quality work for my clients.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Education. No ego.
