Today we’d like to introduce you to Raashad Wilkes.
Raashad, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
One night when my grandmother was cooking thanksgiving, she accidentally fell asleep. I was actually still up watching tv and smelled something burning so I rushed to the kitchen did what I needed to do to save the turkey and of course thanksgiving. At that very young age I realized that cooking was my passion and what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! After that night, I started taking cooking classes in middle school, but I didn’t stop there I now have a BA in culinary arts. I’m originally from St. louis Missouri and have been here in Florida now for 14 years. I started off living in Tampa FL majority of the time then Orlando and now Jacksonville. I started my own online catering and meal plan business back in January of this year, business has not been as busy as I would like but great things come with patience! It would be a blessing if this article sheds light on my business, and I get more clientele.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think a few challenges I had was knowing who and where to go to start my business, because I did not have a clue. After speaking with the right people, they directed me to the right websites and now I’m here where I am moving much more comfortably knowing things.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So as of right now I am working as a receiving lead at a warehouse, my business does not bring in enough money for me to live off it. The position I’m in at work is very repetitive, I pretty much do the same thing on a daily basis, which is receiving customers returned units to get fixed and sent back out. Now what makes me stand out is that fact that I can do everything position back here in the warehouse if needed.
What matters most to you? Why?
Being able to provide for me and my family and being able to spend time with them.
