Meet Monica Fourman of Circles of Wellness

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Monica Fourman. She and her team shared their story with us below:

Monica attended college in Orlando, where she began her career in the fitness industry. She has been in the business of helping her clients look and feel young for nearly 35 years. Monica is a personal trainer with certifications in training and teaching.

Monica is a native Floridian who moved from Orlando to St. Augustine’s World Golf Village in 2003. She has been married for 17 years and has two children. She still teaches fitness classes at Circles of Wellness Spa, where she is the owner and personal trainer.

Monica is passionate about health and helping others maintain their optimum well-being. Circles of Wellness is the culmination of her life-long dream of owning a wellness center. She is committed to investing her time and energy to ensure her clients are 100% satisfied with their experience at this world-class spa destination.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, absolutely not. Obviously, with any new business, there are hurdles to overcome, and we are no different.

We opened our business in 2020 right before COVID-19, which proved to be a major struggle as we worked to establish ourselves. Another major struggle we faced was finding the perfect people for the job. We wanted to find the perfect team to execute our vision and provide a truly five-star experience.

Prior to our ownership, the spa was completely neglected. Not only did it need lengthy renovations (more than six months), but it had also developed a negative reputation due to its appearance and guest experience.

We’ve been impressed with Circles of Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Circles of Wellness. Complete relaxation, comfort, and rejuvenation are yours at Circles of Wellness. Located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, we are the modern-day Fountain of Youth.

Designed by famed architect Robert D. Henry, the 12,000-sq. Ft. spa is an ultra-modern facility that fulfills your every need. Choose from massages, spa and body treatments, skincare, waxing treatments, and more.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is when my mom and I would go out and have spa days. We used to make a day of it and get mani-pedis, and mini facials, and then have lunch together after some light shopping.

Going to the spa and having our girl’s day out was our time to strengthen our relationship. I still have a great relationship with her today and love having her in my spa now!
