Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Hurst
Hi Katherine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started post covid lockdown. I was working at a small café where my ex-husband was stationed and needed some extra money, and honestly, I was sick of working 9-5. I was born and raised in Jacksonville. I started this journey at a photography studio in Jacksonville. This was my first job. I learned a lot from my job and grew from there. I started off with minis for $20 a pop. I then grew to full-on shoots, and now I am doing weddings across Florida and Georgia. My goal is to have a thriving photography business for traveling! I love what I do. I work hard to make myself better at what I do and push myself to grow and thrive. I don’t stick to just one editing style; I change constantly.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has its challenges. The biggest struggle was my divorce and moving home. But I didn’t let that stop me. I revamped my style, and luckily, some of my clients followed me down to Jacksonville! Starting out was tough. People didn’t always take me seriously or follow through. But I persevered, and here I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in everything photography. I love boudoirs and doing wedding photos. Wedding photography and engagement are my newest favorites to capture. I’m also known for my affordable boudoir shoots and empowering women.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Luckily, I wasn’t working back then. I was still at the cafe when it happened.
