Meet Frank and Jacqueline Botifoll of Moon Tide Bar Car

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank and Jacqueline Botifoll.

Hi Frank and Jacqueline, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Frank Botifoll, I’m 34 years old, born and raised in Miami, Florida, and of Cuban descent. My wife Jacqueline Botifoll is 32 years old, born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Moon Tide Bar Car began as a dream we were determined to make a reality. We wanted to start a business using knowledge of the service industry that we already possessed. We have both thrived in the service industry and decided it was time to make something we can call our own and maybe even franchise the idea someday. Jacqueline and I have about 30 years of combined experience and wanted to create something unique and appealing, so we set out on this journey. We bought the shell of our vintage-style camper from a family-run business in NC (Atomic Rocket Trailers). When we brought her home she was bare and full of possibilities. With Jacqueline’s design and my handyman skills, we were able to outfit her in a vintage yet modern style. We didn’t spare any expense on making this little vintage camper a perfect fit for any party or event. So far, the response has been amazing! Everyone that sees our camper bar “Luna” falls in love with her.

Not only is our business growing, but so is our family! We have a beautiful 19-month-old boy named Luke and we’re expecting a daughter on November 9th – can’t wait to meet our little girl!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We are so blessed to have had a pretty smooth road so far. We have had incredible support from our loved ones, jobs, and our community. We started this business out of pocket with a little one at home. If it wasn’t for Jacqueline’s mom and dad being such a huge help with watching the baby we would not be able to do all of the events and tastings we have been able to book. They have been nothing but supportive and encouraging through this endeavor.

Our jobs have been extremely supportive as well. We both serve and bartend at a beautiful local restaurant called Caps on the Water. They have made sure we are covered for nights we need to take off for events and expos.

And our community has taken very good care of us as well. We have spread through word of mouth and people and businesses who have used us have recommended us to their friends for their events. And we get a lot of other bookings from people seeing us in action at an event. Our service is second to none, our dates are filling up fast, and we believe its just a matter of time before we’re booked every weekend!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Moon Tide Bar Car?
Moon Tide Bar Car came from the idea of bartending private events but doing so in a unique way. One of our bars is named “Low Tide” and was hand-built by yours truly, set on wheels for mobility, with a barn-style look. It is set up for service with a number of decorations including a local bourbon barrel where we set our custom drink menus written by Jacqueline on a 96-year-old window! And then we have the star of our show named “Luna”! Luna is a 13′ by 8′ vintage camper turned bar; she has a large 8′ service window on one side and another large 6-1/2′ window along the back for additional service space for larger events. We equipped this bar with beautiful cabinetry and countertops, a beverage cooler, an ice well, sinks, speed rails, and a double-tap Kegco kegerator for kegged cocktails and seltzers. Let’s just say, it’s a full bar! Our business does not hold a liquor license, so alcohol and mixers are provided by the client. Besides those two things, we cover the rest! This includes fresh cocktail garnishes, recyclable drinkware, ice, coolers, bio-degradable straws, napkins, all bar tools, etc. ABC liquor is our main vendor because they can actually have your purchases delivered to your residence or venue. We do carry general and liquor-liability insurance and we have a thorough process to provide our clients a custom and worry-free experience when dealing with Moon Tide Bar Car. Our mission is to make certain your most special moment is a great, worry-free time!

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We have loved working with different food trucks, event coordinators, photographers, and rental companies in the past, so we do recommend anyone who’s interested in working side by side to please reach out to us. We’re always up for new partnerships and networking opportunities. Besides, that’s what small business is all about! We can be emailed, called, or messaged through Instagram. We look forward to hearing from you!

This seems to be a great way to add a bar to a party!
