Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Forgette.
Hi Emma, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music has always been a big part of my life. I started playing flute in fifth grade and was always first chair, so even before singing, music was something I really loved and worked hard at.
I didn’t start pursuing country music until my junior year of high school. Once I started performing and writing songs, I realized it was what I wanted to do. Choosing music over the traditional college path was a little scary, but I knew I wanted to give it everything I had.
Since then, I’ve been building my career through live shows, songwriting, and recording music. I regularly perform in both Florida and Nashville and have had the chance to play hundreds of shows over the years. Live music has taught me a lot- not just musically, but personally too.
I think the biggest thing this journey has shown me is how much growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone. From writers rounds to full band shows to traveling and meeting new people, every experience has helped shape me into who I am today both as an artist and as a person.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Many factors have made it challenging. Social media has been one of the biggest struggles. It has its pros, but it also has its cons. Not every artist sounds the way they do online, and platforms like TikTok don’t always push your music out to the people you hope it reaches.
There are challenges in live music too. I love performing live, but not everyone in the room is always listening. Sometimes you can play to a full crowd and still feel invisible, and if I’m honest, that can affect me. It makes me question myself at times.
So no, the road has not always been easy, but it has still blessed me with so much. Through all of it, I’ve grown as both an artist and a person, and I’m grateful for every opportunity, lesson, and connection music has brought into my life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an artist and creative focused on country music, live performance, and storytelling. Over the last several years I’ve built my career independently, performing over 200 shows a year between Florida, Nashville, and other regional markets while continuing to grow as both a songwriter and performer. My music blends traditional country influences with modern storytelling, often centered on real-life experiences, emotion, and connection.
I specialize in creating music and live performances that feel authentic and personal. Whether it’s an emotional song like “The Text I Never Sent” or a high-energy crowd song like “Barfly Barbie,” I want people to feel something real when they hear my music. I’m known for my strong live vocals, work ethic, and ability to connect with audiences in both intimate acoustic settings and full-band performances.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building my career from the ground up as an independent artist. I chose to pursue music full-time at a young age instead of taking a more traditional path, and while that road has not always been easy, it has shaped me into the artist and person I am today. I’ve had opportunities to perform across the country, collaborate with respected writers and producers, and continue developing a growing audience through persistence and consistency.
What sets me apart is my resilience and authenticity. I’ve never tried to be someone else to fit trends. I believe people connect most with genuine artists, and I try to bring that honesty into everything I create-from songwriting to live shows to how I interact with fans. I’m passionate about continuing to grow, expand my reach internationally, and create a career that is built on real connection, strong live performance, and meaningful music
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
There are risks to pursuing a career as an artist. One of the biggest for me was deciding to forgo college. That was scary because I didn’t know if I would regret it someday. I used to wonder, “What if I had gone to school? What if I had chosen a different path?”
But looking back at 18-year-old me now, I realize that if I had done things differently, I wouldn’t be the person I’ve become today. Every choice, every struggle, every risk, and every experience shaped me into who I am, not just as an artist, but as a person.
The road hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always come from playing it safe. Sometimes it comes from believing in yourself enough to take the uncertain path.
