Today we’d like to introduce you to dean adams.
Hi dean, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Dean Adams, and I first visited the area around 1996 while visiting my parents, Gill and Barbara Johnston. I quickly fell in love with the area and its beaches. As I lived in lake Lanier in Gainesville, GA, and returned to the area to visit my family, it became an easy drive, and I tended to drive down any opportunity I could. High school graduations, birthday parties, weddings, baby showers, births, and deaths. I even drove down dressed as a pirate, delivered cupcakes to a third-grade class, then turned around and went home for six hours on the road, an hour at school, a family dinner, and six hours back home. Uncle Dean will do just about anything for their families.
I stayed with my family, but as the family grew, the house grew smaller, and the area of bed and breakfast became quite an adventure., The Hoyt House, the Florida House, the Williams house, and the Fairbanks house. All of these beautiful period homes were amazing. I even had regular rooms and dates on the books year-round! I am a very outgoing and social person that never meets a stranger, so the breakfast experience was second to none with people from all over the world.
During my sister’s wedding in Ponte Vedra, we rented an entire house for the family for the weekend through Airbnb. This was my first trip back to the island and area since I had to Doberman pinchers. The Airbnb experience was so good that I have been doing that for the past six years. Murree’s Porch on ash street has become our regular landing spot every July when we come for my birthday trip. At Christmas, while visiting, we stayed in Springfield and this year in San Marco, each time in a beautifully restored loft in an old building. One of my businesses is decorating people’s homes for holidays and parties, and after the Christmas season to look forward to an escape and have found Jacksonville. It’s walking the ideal place to spend the holidays and be very low-key.
As soon as I arrive in Amelia island or Jacksonville, my first stop is always at moon river pizza to pick up a large white pizza. In Fernandina T-Rays for breakfast. Fernandina Fantastic Fudge for pralines, harbor wear for my life is good shirts and cafe caribou for dinner with friends. Our favorite pastime is walking the neighborhoods we stay in and visiting cemeteries. Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens Is one of my favorites, and the museum of science and history. Shopping and browsing in 5 points are all things that we enjoy doing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run a house-sitting and pet-sitting business. I take care of older adults A decorate people’s homes for holidays and parties. I run a catering company and do private home parties. I am also a minister, marry people, and live in an old Victorian church.
How would we have described you growing up if we knew you were growing up?
