Meet Dairo Guerra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dairo Guerra.

Hi Dairo, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in a construction household and real estate was always something that I was exposed to. I remember that for Halloween one year, I dressed up as Bob the Builder because I wanted to be like my father, a general contractor in the Jacksonville area.

When I found out about entrepreneurship, I fell in love with the idea of solving people’s everyday problems or create a solution to everyday inconveniences. I decided to become a Medic in the US Army even before graduating high school because I have a passion for serving.

Once I got back home, I rekindled my passion for real estate through a family friend who was a war veteran and was successful in real estate. I saw it as a challenge and a passion that I could dive into that would help people make the purchase of their homes. At a young age, I am proud to say I am currently a Healthcare Specialist in the US Army Reserves, Realtor in Florida serving the Northeast region, and a college student working towards nursing school.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to improvement is never smooth or straightforward. There will be obstacles that arise, emotions and thoughts are definitely big obstacles to overcome.

Being the first one born on US soil from Cuban immigrant parents has taught me that in America the sky is the limit, the only thing holding you back from where you want to be is hard work and dedication. Growing up, I had to learn the English language, I had to adapt to the American culture, coming from low-income status, seeing my parents work multiple jobs simply to provide for my siblings and I has shown me that no struggle is too much for me to handle.

Maintaining composure through rough times, being away from family and friends, missing out on birthday celebrations, losing friends, managing yourself, and creating healthy habits. These are all changes one goes through when one decides to grow. A Drill Sergeant once told us on the “Stairway to Heaven” that “The true accomplishment isn’t reaching the top of the mountain, it’s the climb to the top. Follow me!” That quote is what a true leader does and it will forever resonate with me for the rest of my life. Each time, I am faced with a tough day or challenge I remember his words and his actions to carry on climbing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Realtor in Northeast Florida helping families purchase or sell their homes to satisfy their family’s needs and wants. I specialize in serving the Hispanic community here in Jacksonville and have helped some families throughout the entire state. I know my family had a rough time coming to the United States not knowing the language, the contracts, the number of documents necessary for the transaction. I am the person who helps translate and help that family get the house they want for their family.

I am most proud of my military background or service. I have been in since 2018 joining the second largest MOS in the Army as a Healthcare Specialist or Combat Medic. I love being a part of the military, met some of my brothers in the service, and I know they have my back as I have theirs for many years to come. The fact that I am able to be a part of that 1% who wears the uniform and voluntarily goes into harm’s way to bring back our guys alive or to help those who need medical assistance is a pleasure that I hold close to me. There have been countless American heroes who have gone and never came back, to help more come home is why I joined.

My ambition is what sets me apart from others, it’s quite simply unmatched. I strive each day to become better and help those around me become better. I love the journey because it is building me into the person I am today. I know where I want to be is not easy, but it is well worth it.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Learn to take denials, rejections, and objections lightly. Never to heart because these are things that are not within your control. You are only able to control your reaction to these things and realize that no night will last forever the sun will rise and brighter days will be on the horizon.

Love yourself and have that self-confidence come from within, not from the outside. Never doubt yourself because there are people out there that know your potential, learn from tough moments, and remain humble in the good moments.
