Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Vallencourt.
Hi Andrea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Long story short, my husband and I bought an abandoned 1937 movie theatre in the small town of Green Cove Springs. We took a year to renovate it and turn it into a wedding venue. We have been open 6 years and hosted 450+ weddings and events. We had no idea what an undertaking it would be and had no prior experience in the wedding industry but now we have become experts!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was pretty seamless as far as the renovation of the building, and booking events right away. I was able to book 50 weddings by the time we opened our doors and have not slowed down since then. We had a little downtime during COVID when we were forced to close our doors for a few months but it was a great learning experience. Of course I have made mistakes along the way but what small business hasn’t. They are all a part of our story!

Clay Theatre is a movie theatre turned wedding venue located in Northeast Florida. We specialize in hosting unforgettable wedding experiences that are easy, beautiful, and stress-free for our couples.
What sets us apart is how personal we are. We truly get to know every couple and do everything we can to bring their vision to life. From the moment they arrive in the morning to get ready in our private suites, through the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, our team is there to make sure the day flows smoothly. We handle all the setup and cleanup, coordinate the ceremony, and work closely with all the vendors to make it seamless.
Our brand is known for exceptional customer service, and that’s something I’m really proud of. I built Clay Theatre through word of mouth by treating every client, guest, and vendor with care and intention. I want every interaction with our team to feel thoughtful and positive, because that’s what builds trust and a great reputation.
At the end of the day, we’re not just a pretty space…we’re a team that shows up for people. That’s what I think makes us different.

I could not have built this venue without the support and help from my husband and business partner. He always believes in me and my dreams. And the team at Clay Theatre makes the day-to-day operations possible. I have a dynamic group of girls who all bring a different skill to the table. All of us together make a dream team!
