Today we’d like to introduce you to Psi Delta Chi Military Sorority, Incorporated.
Hi Psi Delta Chi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Psi Delta Chi Military Sorority, Incorporated was founded by two Navy veterans, Distinguished Empress Mercedes E. Hill and Distinguished Empress Lestine C. Webb, in Jacksonville, Florida, on November 8, 2019, and was formally incorporated on July 8, 2019.
Our vision was to unite quality women who have served or are currently serving in the military. We are committed to uplifting not only veteran women, but also their dependents, with a focus on strengthening families and making a meaningful impact within our communities. We recognized the need for a strong village—one built on unity, support, and shared purpose.
While the journey has not always been easy, it has been both rewarding and transformative. Along the way, we have learned to live our core values of courage, empowerment, and loyalty, while remaining patient, polished, and purpose-driven.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. Along the way, we have faced controversy surrounding our name, mourned the loss of a beloved Gozen, and experienced the heartbreak of losing members due to unforeseen circumstances. Each moment tested our strength, but also deepened our bond.
One of our most meaningful challenges was becoming sisters to a Fraternity that was initially hesitant to welcome a sister organization. Through patience, consistency, and love, that hesitation turned into mutual respect, appreciation, and a clear understanding of the value we bring.
In a landscape where the saturation of Military Greek Letter Organizations often places us all in pursuit of the same women, we remain committed to honoring our purpose, our sisterhood, and the unique path that continues to shape who we are.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Psi Delta Chi Military Sorority, Incorporated was founded by two U.S. Navy veterans, Distinguished Empress Mercedes E. Hill and Distinguished Empress Lestine C. Webb, in Jacksonville, Florida, on November 8, 2019, and was formally incorporated on July 8, 2019.
Our mission is “to be strong military women, both past and present, who stand united while supporting our communities and social change around the world.”
Our vision is “to build a strong culture of courage, empowerment, and loyalty through a greater purpose and caring.”
Psi Delta Chi specializes in supporting military families and community-based businesses across 11 states within the United States. We are known for our involvement in local schools during the Month of the Military Child, our support of the National Veterans Day Parade in New York City, roadside cleanups, and collaborations with Hubbard House in multiple states. We take great pride in our resilience, our courage to move forward, our members’ loyalty, and our continued commitment to our communities.
What sets us apart from other Military Greek Letter Organizations (MGLOs) is our commitment to quality over quantity. As a result, we are a 100% degree-earning organization. Our service efforts have earned recognition through street adoption in Jacksonville, Florida, and along Interstate 5 in San Diego, California, for roadside cleanup initiatives. We are also a sponsor of the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary and proudly support Jade, a resident tiger.
Additionally, Psi Delta Chi Military Sorority, Incorporated is constitutionally bound to our elite fraternal counterpart, **Psi Delta Tau Military Fraternity, Incorporated**.
