Life & Work with Katt Hanneman of Jacksonville, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katt Hanneman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up, I was the type of person who would get bored with a job within two years. However, I always found myself in jobs where I was helping people. It was because of this that I decided to pursue massage therapy as a career.

Luckily for me, I am still as passionate about my career choice as I was ten years ago when I decided to start my training. In the span of a decade, I have worked in chiropractic offices, day spas, and 5 star resorts. I decided to open Fairway And Bloom Massage Therapy a little over four years ago, and I feel blessed that I can blend all of the techniques that I’ve learned throughout the years to make people feel better.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think the choice to be a small business owner is a brave one. I think the lifestyle comes with it’s ups and downs. It takes a while to find your rhythm, and I think once you do it becomes a little easier to deal with.

Fortunately, I have the best cheerleaders in my corner in the form of my friends and family.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed massage therapist. I am trained in a wide range of modalities such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lymphatic Drainage, Cupping Therapy, Prenatal, and more. I am known for blending different techniques to personalize treatments to each client I work with. I am most proud of having the ability to drastically reduce someone’s pain, or see the relaxed smiles after a service. That honestly makes my job so worth it.

With having a background in both therapeutic settings as well as high end spa settings, I think that this experience makes it so that I can effectively treat issues in a way that also feels like a retreat.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I think that the most important lesson that I’ve learned so far is that I am not alone, and I don’t have to do it all alone. I think that having roots in community gives one strength, and also gives you different perspectives that can embolden you to pivot in ways you never would have thought of doing yourself.
