Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Dennis.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I didn’t start out chasing a career in photography. To be honest, I never even realized that was a career possibility growing up. It all started when I opened my own 7000sqft fitness facility with 2 racquetball courts.
I started making exercise of the month videos and trainer spotlights. After selling the gym, I found myself on TV and movie sets working all sorts of jobs, and then eventually behind the camera. Instantly I knew I wanted to make images that spoke to the viewer. That made people stop and look and perhaps more importantly feel like they know the person who’s picture they are looking at.
That lead to an obsession over people, faces and stories. Now 15 years later I am fortunate enough to have worked with clients like The United Nations, NFL, Farah & Farah, Mayo Clinic creating images and video that speak to something more than just “content”,
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
overall I would say I have been pretty fortunate. Obviously freelance has its up and downs but I have always managed to whether the slow seasons. I have always been lucky enough to find the right clients at the right time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a photographer. A commercial portrait photographer to be more specific. I specialize in people, faces and stories and I help organizations and individuals tell their authentic stories in honest and human imagery.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The easiest way to work with me is to start a conversation. I love working on cool projects with cool people, sometimes those are big budgets, sometimes they are not.
I collaborate with individuals and organizations on portrait and storytelling projects, and I’m always open to partnerships that feel thoughtful and values-aligned.
Support can also come through sharing the work, making introductions, or engaging with the stories themselves. For anyone interested in collaborating, I’m accessible through my website and social platforms.
