Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Marquesha Mikell of Pooler, GA

Marquesha Mikell shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Marquesha, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I love seeing the outcome of every vision I help bring to life. Meaning I love what I do. I care to give people their worth, time, and energy. There’s no why not. *chuckles* Yes, I would hire me and I’m not saying that because I want clientele. *winks*

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Marquesha Mikell. I have a company called Amenity Visions, and we offer unique services and products for our people that need event decorations, customized items for weddings, birthdays, and holiday parties, We also dabble in graphic design if you’re ever in need of a logo.

We been flowing and creating for 6 years now. *cheers* I’ve recently announced bedazzled items, and really hope to create something for a bride and groom. The idea is waiting to pop out so I may just go ahead and create it. Maybe a giveaway in the future?

Now I’m going on to begin ordering balloon kits, making reels, and rating them to get back into my monthly holidays reels. That was really fun, and kept my creativity flowing. Halloween is the perfect holiday for me to jump back in so follow me to see the fun!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My sibling, Marquis. I remember one time asking him, “Duke…how come you and mom have this hustle energy and it skipped me?” I can’t remember what he said verbatim but just know I’m very thankful for him. He knew I would find something I love.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Unsure on when but I tell you, NOW I use everything as power especially to complete projects. I’m mad, I use it to create. I’m sad, I cry a little in between but I use it to complete projects. I’m tired, I go get some rest because I’m not beneficial to myself then. *laughs* Always get some rest.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Being nice and showing respect to every single person you come across.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If immortality were real, what would you build?
I would build the foundation I want to have in my 30s. It’s going to be called the Mikell Foundation. Something to give and continue my families name as life continues on. Build for the lineage that comes after me. Help other people and families build.
