Today we’d like to introduce you to William Sweet.
Hi William, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in December 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. I then declared for the NFL Draft.
During the process of preparing for the draft, I talked with my parents about creating an investment vehicle in real estate. I have been investing in mutual funds, stocks, and bonds since I was 17 years old. One of my mentors, Peter Fox, introduced me to his financial advisor and while some of the guys were buying tennis shoes and clothes, I was buying Apple and Amazon!
My real estate company was formed in February of 2019 and is called Sweet Ventures, LLC. We specialize in transitional housing, acquisitions, and real estate development. Our transitional housing portfolio has grown from 10 beds to over 40 beds since 2019.
We currently work with many providers throughout the State of Florida to assist returning citizens and registered citizens.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been all smooth sailing. We have had some obstacles and challenges because of the population that we are serving. Many returning citizens and registered citizens are just looking for a second chance to re-enter society. Most of our clients get back on track, find employment and become contributing members of society.
However, some are not so fortunate for a variety of reasons and are not successful. We are working with all of our clients to provide Wrap Around Services, that include but are not limited to peer mentoring, career exploration, and development. Mental health wellness, substance abuse, alcohol abuse counseling, etc.

I was an NFL Football Player with the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco Forty-Niners, Dallas Cowboys, and Atlanta Falcons.
My company Sweet Ventures, LLC specializes in affordable and transitional housing throughout the State of Florida. We have properties in Duval, Orange, Hillsborough, and Polk Counties.
We continue to look for expansion opportunities throughout the State of Florida and the State of Georgia. Our goal is to become the Best Transitional Housing provider in the Southeast and eventually spread throughout the United States.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck!
It’s been a lot of pray, preparation, and practice to achieve the goals that we have set for our progress.
