Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyzer Evans
Hi Tyzer, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always been a person who believed in fitness and proper nutrition. My mom always made us very conscious of the foods we put into our bodies as kids. As I carried that belief into my adult life and met my wife, she happened to be similar to my mother; she has a degree in holistic nutrition and has always led a healthy lifestyle. I started to work in health insurance many, many years ago. As someone who sees from the inside how the system is broken to help lead people to healthier life choices, but also people not making healthier life choices, I believe it has a devastating impact on our healthcare system and the lives of our fellow citizens.
I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur; I love to create, I love a challenge, and I like to be in control of my destiny. So, as I was exploring businesses to open, I wanted one that I could get behind personally and know that it wasn’t about just making money. It was about creating something that would positively impact my community. When I came across Gameday Men’s Health, I knew immediately it was a business I wanted to open and a company I wanted to be a part of. As men, we tend to ignore our health more than we should. Many of us walk around feeling 50% of what we used to 10 years ago but blame it on just getting older, but really, it is just a hormonal imbalance. Now, women pay great attention to their hormonal balance; men do not! So I thought this was a worthy cause of helping men become aware of the health problems they may be facing, which can be a pretty easy solution with a quick blood test. So, that is how I got to my business; it was a mission to help others get back on track to leading a healthier lifestyle, fix their current issues, and do so in an affordable way and transparent way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh no! It has not been a smooth road, but I expected it not to be. We were first to market, so understanding the numbers has been challenging, especially when setting the correct price points and ensuring we are marketing to the right audience. Some of the red tape, of course, getting a medical practice started was challenging, other issues with setting up the facility. But honestly, I enjoyed the challenge; I don’t know that I would have wanted it to be smooth sailing; that would have made it more difficult with the next venture without any hurdles up front.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We specialize in men’s health! Specifically in men’s hormone optimization. There has been a drastic decline in men’s testosterone levels over the last several decades. Many men think they have depression or constantly tried when it is just a hormonal imbalance in the body. We also offer sexual wellness treatments, like the GainsWAVE treatment or P-shot. Lastly, we offer weight loss management services, from partnerships with local trainers and gyms to semaglutide or tirzepatide.
Our center is not just another service provider in town. We have created a unique environment that caters exclusively to men. Here, men can focus on their health in a space designed for them, with healthcare professionals who specialize in men’s health.
One feature that separates us from the marketplace is that we have our own on-site lab! We can have you in and out with results and consultation in 45 minutes; there are no long waits, no multiple trips, and it is fast, efficient, and informative!
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Business is risky, but so is life. I once heard a quote from Jim Rohn: “If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.” That was impactful; everything you do is a risk. It is a risk going for your dreams, but it is just as big of a risk not going for your dreams.
We are always on borrowed time; not everyone knows when they will punch their clock and leave this life, so why play it safe? Why not have the best experience possible? Why not take risks when nothing goes with us but the memories?
I was at a convention and saw this man give a presentation, and he put up 80 little boxes on the screen, and he checked off 62. He said every box represented a year of his life. He said, “I may live past 80, but if we go with the stats of today’s average of a man, I have maybe 18 years left.” That changed my perspective on our time and how we utilize it. So, I don’t think about risk vs. nonrisk; I evaluate how I spend my time and whether I am doing something fulfilling and impactful, whether I am setting a good example, staying present, did I make today count. Did I grow as a person today? Did I help someone today?
