Hi Miya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Miya, I am a mom of 3 children. I have always had a passion for events and worked with children ages 5 and under for over 10 years, before switching careers. In 2021 I had just had my youngest daughter and while planning her first birthday party I fell in love with all things soft play. I began researching and trying to find ways that I could open my own mobile soft play business. I saved every dime I could and purchased my first set up. With a lot of research, God on my side, and the passion I had I was able to create MB Soft Play Adventures, I am so proud of the work I have put into my business and have been blessed abundantly and with the help of my children, we have been able to make other parents and children so happy! We love what we do and knowing that we are helping make such special events even more special makes all the hard work worth it! My goal is to open my own Soft Play Cafe in Jacksonville for families to have a place where they feel supported and have fun all in one, but until then I will continue to promote my business and hope to service so many more families.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been easy by any means. Being a single mom whose children do multiple different activities I am sometimes running on empty, but on days when I have an event I have to push through! I know that my children are watching me and I want to show them that while I am only one person I tried my hardest to make things work.

MB Soft Play Adventures is a mobile soft play business. Soft play is an activity for children that involves playing in a specially designed area with soft surfaces and equipment. We specialize in soft play setups for children ages 5 and under our set ups include ball pits, slides, toddler bounce houses, and multiple soft play equipment all set up in one secure area to provide hours of fun for your smaller guest. What makes us so unique is I am a single mom owned business, I have a passion for events and as a mom I know how important it is for everything to be just right for your special occasion. I treat every party as if it were my own! Brand wise I am most proud that I was able to build and fund my business out of my own pocket. It has not been easy, but as a small business owner I am always so proud to look at my work and think wow I did this all on my own( with God, my childrens support of course). I would want your readers to know that I have put my all into this business and no matter if my business continues to grow or stays the same I will continue to take pride in my events.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Starting a Business in general is taking a risk you don’t know if it’s going to succeed, you don’t know how it’s gonna turn out or even if it’s going to work out. Being a small business owner, that is one of the biggest risk you can take, often times you’re putting up your own money, and your own time into something that may only be a passion. That passion and drive has to carry you through the hard times. I try to always consider the what ifs in life, but if I feel that what I’m working on is worth that what if I’m going to dive into it and I’ll deal with the consequences later. I feel like that’s how a person becomes successful you have to be open to taking risk in life.
