Hi Kim, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When I was thinking about the career path I wanted, two things were important to me – creativity, and helping others. Working in the marketing field pushes me to always seek creative solutions to help businesses reach their goals. After working at a handful of agencies, I realized I wanted more. I knew it was time to venture out on my own. Starting my own business is a journey in self-confidence and rising to the challenge, something my clients can relate to. Working with someone that has been in your shoes makes a world of difference. It’s not just about having something to call my own though. My goal with Evergreen Marketing Solutions is to guide businesses to success with tailored marketing solutions that actually work. That means building a working relationship that starts with trust. The success of my business follows the success of my client’s, not the other way around.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There’s no better way to see the areas you need to work on than starting your own business. You’re very quickly faced with your own flaws when no one is there to offset them. Personally, the biggest challenge I’ve faced is imposter syndrome. I think any woman in business can relate to feeling like they don’t measure up in their career. The lesson I learned is to honor those emotions, but don’t let them define you. The only way to work through it is to literally work through it. Keep pushing and believing in yourself. Everyone has the ability to start a business, but the people that see success don’t allow themselves to get in their own way.

How do you define success?

If reaching your goals absolutely drains you and makes you miserable – is that really success? For me, success means finding ways to celebrate along the way. Make the small wins important and use it to fuel your big goals and dreams.

- Pricing begins at $100/hr, but most clients get set up on a monthly retainer based on the hours needed to complete the work each month.
