Today we’d like to introduce you to Jan Rice.
Hi Jan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Jan Rice, and I relocated to Jacksonville, FL, while serving active duty in the US Navy. While serving, I decided that my family and I living from check to check was not cutting it. I then decided to step into becoming a realtor in 2017. I first attempted the course in 2017 and did not pass the class. I was a new mom again and balanced being a single parent while my husband was deployed for a year. I was depressed and had little time for anything outside of my kids and full-time service to the military at that time. So my focus honestly was not there as I reflected. I then decided to take the course much more seriously and focus on becoming a real estate professional. In 2018, over a year later, I retook the course, being much more determined, and passed the end-of-class final on the first try and passing the state test on the second attempt. At this point in my life, I was much more focused and had time to prepare for the class and test. I dedicated hours daily to studying, and that truly helped.
In my first year in real estate as a new agent, I was determined and eager to learn and become as educated as possible. In my first year as an agent, I truly struggled. I wanted more out of my business and was not at the brokerage I knew could give me the support and education I desired. For 11 months, I decided to join a brokerage that could provide me the moral support, training, education, and knowledge to elevate my business.
Since then, I have transitioned to my final and now the third brokerage at Momentum Realty, where I truly learned and understood the business and aspects of becoming this top-producing agent I am today. I was terrified, nervous, and uncertain of how things would go for my real estate career; reflecting on my struggles and lessons taught me the true value of entrepreneurship. I stand here today grateful for every up and down I have experienced thus far. I am certain there are many more to come, but this experience has prepared me with a mindset like no other to remain consistent, grateful, and humble throughout my journey. I am a real estate investor, coach, and realtor in 2022. This was not even anything I was close to imagining for myself, but it shows anyone that it is very much possible for you.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I wish it were much smoother for me, but I appreciate and value the lessons I have learned and experienced. Experience has been the best teacher for me. Now I can make much for concise and intentional decisions. This is my third brokerage in 3 years of being a real estate agent so that lets you know that I was truly in need of and searching for the fulfillment in a solid foundation as an agent. The challenges I faced daily were with time management. Being a full-time professional, wife and mom did not stop. There were challenges with managing time to take/pick up kids from school or sports practices. Ensuring dinner and homework are completed daily. My husband, when he is not deployed, has been a tremendous help with our family’s day-to-day tasks.
We’ve been impressed with Elite Realtor Blue Print Course & Real Estate Coaching, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
This is an online course that I am now launching this Fall 2022 for new, current, and aspiring real estate agents. I want to share my story and provide the knowledge and expertise that I have gained from my personal and professional experience to others. I know my story and passion can provide someone else with the foundation they could use to implement and incorporate into their own business. I will be offering real estate coaching as well. This is an additional source of one-on-one mentorship I am providing for the agents who also complete my course. Collaboration is huge as I can also learn from anyone in the real estate industry at any time. Education is the power and overall key to my success! Mentorship is my most valued and continued investment that I will forever make into my business and sets me apart.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is truly providing the best professional services to any family that decides to work with me as their real estate professional. I love ensuring my clients understand the process of purchasing, selling, or investing! I want them to know that I value their business and real estate goals. I love the experience of each family or client as each experience is completely different. It is a true journey like no other.
