Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Linda Hart.
Hi Dr. Linda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began my journey in the mental health and marriage and family field, due to personal challenges and working in ministry. Relationships are strained and marriages fail because of various factors related to work, life and religious balancing of expectations and responsibilities. At that time, divorce rates were higher in the bible belt than in secular. In the midst of becoming a newly licensed minister, a failing marriage leading to divorce and exposure to family and marriage crisis within ministry work, I knew there was a bigger calling for my life, I returned to school. My education led to degrees in bachelors in Theology, Psychology and eventually graduate school with a masters in Marriage & Family therapy and doctorate in Christian Counseling. My business concepts started as a consultant, providing personal and professional development workshop, seminars and speaker, as I was going through school, at which time Radiant Living was founded.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, absolutely not, as no road is every totally smooth. My journey, as with many was filled with challenges, ups and downs. I was a single parent (of five) with three children still at home. There was time I was jobless and experienced financial crisis, on top of daily living and supporting my children.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

I am fairly new to the area, as I moved to the Jacksonville area 2022; and opened my practice in end of 2024.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a somewhat quiet and simple child. We grew up in the country of south Georgia. Then moved to a small town of central Florida. So, life was pretty conservative and sheltered. I am the third of 13 children and grew up with both parents in the home. As you can imagine a family that size experienced chaos and hardship for a number of reasons. First, during my error, the black community experienced hardship for personal reasons, education, economics, social and racial factors., during my childhood Therefore, it was tough. At the age of 16, I was a high school drop out, pregnant and married. By age 21 I had three children and going through separation/divorce.
