Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My partner Corey and I started this business in September of 2022, 4 years ago. He was the owner of Jacksonville Hauling and Junk Removal and I owned Main and Edge Investment Group (real estate wholesaling). We identified a gap in our services in the form of customers/clients asking if we would clean the space as well or if we knew of anyone who could. We decided to build a cleaning company to address this, and since then we have both made this company our soul focus. We are veteran-owned, local, reliable, and most importantly we believe in delivering a great customer experience by delivering a great human experience.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been anything but a smooth road as I imagine is the case with most small businesses. As a veteran-owned small business, we’ve had to build our reputation from the ground up. That meant earning the trust of one client at a time, relying heavily on referrals, reviews, and consistent performance. This challenge far outweighs other standard obstacles like supply and demand or scaling the business to meet those needs but every obstacle has strengthened our resolve to improve our processes, communicate better and we stay committed to our mission for Jacksonville and the surrounding areas.
As you know, we’re big fans of SPUNGE CLEANING LLC.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
As a veteran-owned business, we pride ourselves on not only the standard deliverables in our industry (integrity, reliability, consistency, positive customer experience, etc.), but also believe that value and quality need to be aligned. We specialize in one-time or recurring (weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual) cleaning services that include short-term rental cleaning, post-construction cleaning, move-in/out turns, office/restaurant cleaning services, etc. We serve both residential and commercial clients. We are known for using plant-based cleaning products which leave a better smell and aren’t as harsh on the various surfaces we wipe or wash. We offer a few items that set us apart from others, examples of this would be a 15% discount on all one-time and recurring services for first responders, military, LEO, teachers, and medical professionals, we offer a 48 hour return service at no additional cost if something is missed, and if we provide an unsatisfactory service you pay absolutely nothing. I’m most proud of the staff we have the pleasure to work with and the customers we serve, but specifically regarding the brand, that we’ve managed to exceed expectations consistently. I would like our readers to know that we are two ordinary guys looking to provide an extraordinary service for people who believe every place we touch as human beings should be left a little better than we found it.
