Today we’d like to introduce you to Airelle Smith.
Hi Airelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I first became pregnant with my sun Nagem, I wanted to eat better for the health of us both. I was vegetarian at the time and I transitioned over to being Vegan.
Back in 2019, there weren’t a lot of vegan-friendly choices or spots. I had to learn how to prepare the foods that I was craving. As I prepared myself these meals, the idea of serving the community came to my mind, and then BOOM!
I said to myself “I can start selling food!” From that point, I started researching and diving more into the field of veganism & business. I ended up quitting my job at Florida Blue & followed my passion!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were many ups & downs. Still, to this day, I am still facing obstacles. I am learning and growing in my journey. I was conflicted within my mind and heart since 2019 about the life period.
I had a lot of unlearning to do. Some of the obstacles that I had to face were creativity, mindset, motherhood, mental health, stubbornness, pride, ego, boundaries, loving myself, financial investments, fear, and doubt.
As you know, we’re big fans of Vegan Airyy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Vegan Airyy is a single-owned business by myself.
I am a melanated chef who enjoys cooking and serving with love! I specialize in many services such as meal prepping, individual meal selling, holistic consultations, catering, event attending, private chef booking, live cooking, and more!
I am most known for my divinely prepped food. What sets me apart from others is that I am a 24-year-old mother with an upcoming 2-year-old who single-handedly runs Vegan Airyy. I create my own business cards, flyers, and menus, promote, take orders, and prepare the orders AND I also deliver them.
I am authentic and I will admit that I am not perfect. BUT I will reach my full potential on this journey.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how big Jacksonville is! It gives me a sense of growth and expansion. I love that we know how many vegan-friendly restaurants and options!
They inspire me with my Vegan Airyy Business. One thing that I least like about Jacksonville is that some people will fake support you until you “made it” or they may not support you at all but I’ve learned to make peace and acceptance of that.
I am an abundant magnet, so whoever is for me & my business will come, and whoever isn’t will go or not support.
