Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Brinkman.
Hi Adriana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Fala Language Academy was started by Adriana Brinkman and Gladys Franco, seeing that there were not many options for children to learn a new language that was fun and engaging. Fala is new and innovative as students learn in a fun way rather than the same old curriculum. For example, in FALA Spanish Summer Camps, campers discover a different Spanish Speaking country each week. Students cook the main dishes of that week’s country and learn about the artists, composers, sights, and attractions. Our STEM projects are specifically connected to each new country. We even “code” robots to navigate through the country. Soccer is a huge sport in Spanish-speaking countries, so we learn the entire game in Spanish. Children have so much fun that they don’t even know they are learning a second language. Knowing and learning about other countries helps them become more empathetic and understanding of other cultures. We enjoy seeing every child thrive and learn how capable they are of learning other languages. We embrace Christian values such as love, patience, tolerance, and respect. Our teachers are loving and knowledgeable, and their first language is Spanish!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, being a small business owner has been challenging, but we enjoy every minute of it. The pandemic had a major impact on our business but allowed us to expand our services to online classes. We now offer in-person as well as online classes for children and adults. Currently, we have students taking classes online from other Countries as close as the United States and Canada and as far away as New Zealand! We offer as well private and semi-private classes for adults!

We have an amazing team of experienced and loving teachers and assistants. Our Director, Gladys Franco, is the creator of our unique curriculum that focuses on fun while learning. We offer after-school programs, group classes, and private, semi-private, summer, and winter camps. We are offering a new Baking and International camp for two weeks this year. Our students are super excited about this new addition!
What makes you happy?
It makes us happy to make a difference in our student’s lives. It is satisfying to see students reach their full potential while learning in a fun and educational way. We love making a difference by offering a unique program that prepares this generation for a global community!
