Hidden Gems: Meet Suzanne Hasz of Hudson Trailer Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Hasz.

Hi Suzanne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
In 2015, I came across a camper on craigslist and decided to purchase it, cut a window in the side of it, and transform it into a fun bar to sit in my backyard. However, after I bought it, it sat on my property for a year never getting renovated. While it sat there, guests who came to my house would remark that when it was complete, they would love to rent it for their party.

That first trailer began Hudson Trailer Company and our event rental fleet. We then added two camper bars, two-horse trailer bars, two photo booths, and several smaller tap trucks. Over the next couple of years, images would get posted on Pinterest of our event rental fleet. People began contacting us to create a truck or trailer or photo booth for them so they could launch their own event rental business.

We grew from this small rental company to building mobile businesses for people all over the country. This past year we decided to expand and get a larger shop. Jacksonville was an ideal place for our new location for both the great weather and the availability of commercial space at an affordable rate.

Today, we have built over 150 mobile businesses for people all over the United States. We offer classes for the new entrepreneur and build everything from mobile bar trailers to food trucks and tap trucks to brand activations for corporations and renovate airstreams and vintage campers.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a completely smooth road along our journey.

We are in an emerging industry where there is no template for some of the things we do. Oftentimes in business, the best successes come from the mistakes learned. We did not have an opportunity to learn from the mistakes of others since there are few businesses that do the breadth of work we do.

We do not specialize in just one category of the mobile business, like some other companies, and take on all types, from camper bars, horse trailer bars, pizza trucks, food trucks, airstream bars, tap trucks, Piaggio apes, and even now custom RVs and campers that you live in.

We are consistently creating mobile business builds that are innovative, so we will always be faced with challenges along the way. These challenges help us grow as individuals and as a company and make our product better as well.

As you know, we’re big fans of Hudson Trailer Company. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in building mobile businesses for both corporations and entrepreneurs.

We offer innovative solutions to take products mobile and this sets us apart from other mobile business builders. We have worked with all types of mobile businesses and have experience across all vehicles and build trailers custom from the ground up.

We are always most proud of our innovative products. We have to build a gull-winged roof horse trailer bar, a tiny macaroon Piaggio Ape truck where you stand in the back and the roof raises up, and are presently building a custom RV with a yoga deck on the roof.

We love integrating clients’ visions with our builds and creating something unique for them to showcase their products. Businesses today need more than just a brick-and-mortar store to bring their product to the consumer.

Oftentimes, for some, having a storefront is cost-prohibitive. Therefore a mobile business offers a solution for a person who does not have the financial backing to renovate and open a storefront.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our company is comprised of many amazing team members and we are blessed to all be working towards the same goal.

From our welders to our mechanics, to our carpenters and our leaders, each person in our shop and office plays an important role and has been with us on this ride from the beginning.

We would not be in the place we are now without our team and the faith they had to leap when we decided to grow.
