Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Hoyte.
Hi Stephanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Stephanie Hoyte I am originally from Barbados I moved to Jacksonville in 2014.
I worked in the banking industry as a business manager, and I lost my job on December 1, 2020, I decided that I was gonna work for no one else and I started my mission to grow my business into a successful Black-owned business and ventured off in the Orange Park Mall, I opened a Kiosk for two months and quickly expanded to a brick and mortar store, which successfully grew and made over a $160,000 in eight months and my online made over $400k in the year 2021.
Now my mission is to help and expand even more while teaching women how to elevate and overcome obstacles while running or starting a successful business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, 2021 has been the best year of my life, with minor obstacles but lots of wins, so I thank God for great leadership from my mentors.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Fashion Dollz Boutique was a vision for years, always loved fashion, so I started planning the business back in 2018, it was registered as an LLC back in 2019 as a part-time business while working as a business manager at a bank. I used to experience teaching my clients from my job into my business and my brand.
I discovered a lot of difficulties, setbacks that my business clients were experiencing, and I quickly learned from them and the situations and started implementing and investing in myself and my business. After losing interest in the business banking world, I started working more hours and more time into my business, growing it to over six figures in 2021, I continued to build my business and build my experience, in 2021 I was fired from my 15-year career, but I wasn’t mad I was actually happy, as I took it as a sign from god and quickly started planning for my business. I made up my mind that I was not going to work for anyone else and take the leap of faith and take my brand to the next level during a pandemic.
My brand is about helping women look fabulous and also teaching women, how to take care of their bodies after plastic surgery, plastic surgery is a very unique yet common service being performed for years, but not spoken about publicly and openly. I realized after having plastic surgery myself that lots of women, do not know how to take care of their bodies after they perform plastic surgery, some being someone who went through the process of having plastic surgery, and struggling with maintaining my results, and going through weeks and months of trial and error, I discovered a product that I manufactured myself and patent, that can help women have amazing results. So that is what sets me apart from my competitors
I told myself that I will be the voice for women who need help with maintaining their results and educated myself enough to help them. Also, save them money from having to repeat the service and achieve the body goals they desire, now I make and sell a product called an ab board and I sell waist trainers as well, and they love it because it does provide them with comfort and provide them with the look that they’re looking for.
It also saves them money from having to go back to get plastic surgery again, I also use my experience to teach women, how to start a successful business, how to structure it, and how to market and make money, in addition to that I collaborate with well-known people to teach people how to become a better version of themselves.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Stop asking for permission to do what you want, and just do it, no one can see or understand your vision but you. So just do what you have to do and don’t be afraid to start, don’t ask how much it’s going to cost, ask how much it’s going to make you when you invest in yourself or anything.
