Hidden Gems: Meet Rick Farmer of The Listing Edge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rick Farmer.

Hi Rick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Went into the Navy out of high school for electronics. Hurt my ankle while in and got discharged after less than 2 years.

Worked in computers and network support for about 5 or 6 years before moving into a sales training position in the office equipment world.

Moved into selling/marketing office equipment for a few years and worked as a product manager for Minolta for a bit before moving into selling mortgages.

Sold mortgages for almost 20 years before starting to do photography on the side. When I moved to Florida in 2010, the mortgage business was difficult. I started doing more photography on the side and eventually moved into it full time (about 13 years ago now) and have been running The Listing Edge since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Never smooth. Started during a tough time–when the real estate world collapsed in 2008-2011. Then ran into COVID, which set us back majorly. Then, there was a huge ruling on a lawsuit which turned the real estate world on its head and that was rough.

Always something.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Listing Edge?
The Listing Edge is a real estate media company. We provide various services to real estate professionals to help them market properties, themselves and/or their business. We provide various services such as:

-Photography
-Aerial Photography
-Videography
-3D Tours
-Floor Plans
-Virtual Staging
-Much More

In addition, we also provide these services to non-real estate companies. For example, we’ve done a lot of work for companies such as Southeastern Grocers, Office Evolution and many other types of companies. If they need photos/video/3D Tours, we can provide them.

We also provide lifestyles photos/videos for our customers. We’ll go in an area and photograph/create a video for the area to show off what there is to do in a given area.

We focus on the customer service experience as I feel that is lacking significantly across the board–especially since COVID. We also do not nickel and dime our customers–no price surprises.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We strive to be able to take care of our customers on short-notice and work to ensure the highest quality for our customers.
