Hidden Gems: Meet Morgan Ransom of Find Your Freedom Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Ransom.

Hi Morgan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m naturally empathetic, nonjudgmental and curious. I knew I wanted to be a therapist early on in life and found my area of specialization after going through my own treatment for disordered eating as a teenager. I graduated from Vanderbilt University with degrees in Psychology and Child Development. I then pursued a Masters in Counselor Education with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling. After working for UF Health in Gainesville, FL, I decided to open my own practice in June of 2021. Now I work fully remote, with my adorable dog under my desk and a blanket on my lap. I truly love what I do.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many therapists, I’ve faced challenges around balancing the emotional energy this work requires with the logistics of running a business. There was fear and uncertainty with starting my own business,
but once I took the leap, I realized the process was less daunting than I imagined. There’s a lot of freedom and creativity that comes with being your own boss. I had to learn to wear many hats—therapist, business owner, content creator, marketer—all while holding space for clients in a meaningful way. Early on, I learned how important it was to set boundaries and protect my energy. In this field, compassion fatigue can sneak up quickly if you’re not intentional about caring for yourself too. Establishing a schedule that honors both my clients and my own well-being has made a huge difference.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Find Your Freedom Therapy?
Find Your Freedom Therapy is a virtual therapy practice that helps people heal their relationship with food, body, and movement. I specialize in Intuitive Eating and eating disorder therapy, providing compassionate, nonjudgmental support for those who are ready to break free from disordered thoughts and behaviors. Many of my clients describe feeling “stuck” in an exhausting cycle of restriction, overeating, and guilt. I provide a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach rooted in authenticity and evidence-based care. I focus on helping clients rebuild trust with their bodies, rediscover the joy in eating, and live fuller, more connected lives beyond the scale. Healing doesn’t come from control, but from curiosity, compassion, and connection. Whether someone is just beginning to question diet culture or is in recovery from an eating disorder, they can find a place here.

In addition to therapy, I’ve used my TikTok account, @dietfreedom, to spread the word about intuitive eating in an accessible, relatable way. Through short videos that mix education and real-life examples, I help people challenge diet culture, rethink food guilt, and understand what intuitive eating can look like in everyday life. My goal has always been to make this information approachable and to show that healing your relationship with food is not only possible, but freeing.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice is to just start. Don’t wait until you feel completely ready or have everything figured out. I’ve learned that so much growth happens through trial and error. I’ve had plenty of rough drafts, whether that’s in creating content, building my business, or developing my voice as a therapist. It doesn’t have to be perfect. For new therapists, my advice is to be yourself. Clients can feel when you’re showing up authentically, and that’s what builds trust. And don’t forget to do your own work in therapy. The more you understand yourself, the more grounded and present you can be for your clients.
