Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Zimmerman.
Hi Michael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have been a lifetime athlete. I always knew I wanted to be in the sports field.
In high school, I played football, baseball, and basketball. Then, I went on to play college football with hopes of going pro. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up playing in the NFL. But despite that fact, I was able to find a way to go pro in football nonetheless. I started my company in 2007.
From there, I’ve grown my company into the biggest flag football league in the United States. Spanning coast to coast, and have run leagues and tournaments in 6 states.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. Most businesses are cutthroat but even more so in the sports industry. Challenges include staffing, fields, collections from clients, competitors, lies, and even being through several lawsuits.
Through all of this, one thing remains I’ve always moved forward and kept a positive attitude.

My company is a Sports Organization that focuses on flag football. XFlagFootball Provides adults and children with a safe, family-oriented environment. We provide our clients with a means to exercise, stay in shape, and meet others with similar interests. We provide a place to learn sportsmanship.
We promote health, fitness, recreation, camaraderie, and friendly competition. I am the Tournament Director of The Police & Fire Games annually, as well as several other private organizations Tournament Director. As far as I know, I am the only league that offers men’s, women’s, youth, and coed in multiple states. We’ve been doing this longer than anyone, we know what works for long-term and continued success.
I’m most proud of Our National presence and being able to provide a great product to a vast and diverse group of clients. We run leagues and tournaments in California, Nevada, Massachusetts, New York, Louisiana, and soon-to-be North Carolina coming 2022. We offer men, women’s, youth, and coed. We have our own clothing line where you can custom design your own jerseys.
And we also supply our clients with custom championship gear.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always been the Life of the party and a social butterfly. I’m a leader and a winner. Like I’ve said before, I’ve been a lifetime athlete, and I’ve always excelled in every sport I’ve played.
I was the MVP on my football team, but I’m not all brawn I was also the chess champion of my high school. Additionally, I’ve been an artist since my early teens.
