Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Testa.
Hi Michael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
SISYFLY began as a dream of education that helps students learn about themselves, reality and realizing potential. We are focused on college planning, ACT/SAT tutoring as well as essay assistance to help kids achieve their dream of college admission. However, our mission is greater than that: we wish to change lives and families. I had a difficult time in high school and it was only due to an amazing teacher I had that I survived, thrived and graduated. Because of that teacher, I decided to go into education to help other children like myself. I taught at the high school level for seven and a half years before making the jump to administration. I served as an Assistant Principal in charge of curriculum, hiring and a Cambridge Program for seven years. In 2020, I quit my job and started this. business full time with my business partner, Ken Mercer. Our goal is to produce elite results for our families, while offering high quality instruction, motivation and compassion. We have been blessed and successful for the past five and a half years with no signs of slowing down. Every day Ken and I are excited to do what we do and love all of our families that honor and trust us with their children.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We are not businessmen at heart and are naturally trusting, open and honest with everyone we interact with. We have had to learn to set boundaries with our families, and make them aware that our intention is always for the best interest of the child, even if that means direct and honest assessments and advice. Life is short and there is no time to sugar coat anything, especially when it comes to the mental health, well being and future outlook for a young adult.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about SISYFLY ?
We offer one-on-one, results-based act/sat tutoring. The process of college admissions can be overwhelming in an ever-changing landscape. Most students are not able to receive proper advice or academic expertise from their schools since most counseling departments are overwhelmed with mental health issues as well as accommodations for students. Our teacher and school counselors are amazing and doing the best job they can do, but the demand can spread them very thin, and the primary focus is to graduate from high school. We help focus on the plan after high school. What majors/career will you pursue? What test score do you need to gain acceptance, and more importantly scholarships and money for school? We are very proud that we have never advertised a day in our existence. Every client we get is from word of mouth. We also are proud of the fact that we truly earn our money. We only invoice based on official results. There is no hourly rate here. We commit to our kids and demand the same commitment in return. We tutor in person in Gainesville, Florida but also over zoom, so we can see any kid, anywhere at any time. Results, authenticity and passion. That’s what we deliver.

Stay positive and adjust to change. Things will never go as you planned.
