Today we’d like to introduce you to Max Pierre-Louis.
Hi Max, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was born and raised in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
Then, in my late teenage years, my mother decided that it was time for us all (my sister, myself, and herself) to leave Haiti due to the high level of violence and political uncertainty. So, in December 1998, we relocated to Brooklyn, NY where my grandmother resides. She had finalized the process of filling our documents to be able to cross over to the US legally.
From there, I graduated from high school by taking the G.E.D test, then I went on to college a couple of times, but I dropped out both times.
So, I embarked on my journey of hard labor and jumping from odd jobs to dead-end jobs. The first job that I actually enjoyed was working as a manager at Wendy’s restaurants where I was first exposed to managing and running the day-to-day operations of a multi-million establishment. There something dawned on me, and I was intrigued, but that fire did not stay lit long enough due to my responsibilities always stacking up against me, so I had to continue working more dead-end jobs, then the 2008 recession occurred and my ex-wife and I lost everything that we owned and we had to relocate and move in with my mother in Stuart, FL and start from scratch.
Not long after that, we ended up getting divorced and it was at that time that I decided to embark on a different career path. But before I could become a CDL Class A holder, I had to let some time go by due to some citations that I had gotten a couple of years before, so I worked for an American Company overseas, as a quality control inspector. Working there and for that company completely changed my outlook on life and the possibilities that were at my reach if I continued to learn and move forward. Unfortunately, due to the high level of violence insecurity, and political challenges, I ended up leaving that job and came back to the US in June 2011.
Then from February 2012 to June 2020, I was a fairly highly skilled and decorated truck driver and trainer for having held a very safe trucking career. But when the pandemic hit in early 2020, I lost my mother due to complications from contracting Covid-19 in NY. That day, my world turned upside down, and it didn’t take long after her passing for it to start affecting me emotionally and medically. I ended up getting sick and had to get surgery later that year. After my surgery, in September 2020, my body was not the same.
I could not go back to what I loved doing for the past 8 years, so I had to first work on rehabilitating my health, relearn how to walk and hold my balance however, I was and still am dealing with pain daily due to that surgery. Until today, I still don’t know what happened on the operating table as the hospital has been denying any wrongdoing. But I could not let that stop me, I have 4 kids that rely on me to provide for them and be a father to them, so I had to figure out what I was going to do next.
That’s when L.E.F Dispatch Services LLC was born, in December 2020. I decided that It was now or never to embark on my entrepreneurial journey and give it all I have. Operations began on January 1st, 2021, and I must say the first few months were horrible. I almost gave up during the first 3 months, but I kept on persevering and one day, in late March 2021, I finally signed on my first carrier. It was time for me to show up and make it happen.
Over time, I’ve come to learn so much about business, dispatching and dealing with people from all over the US in many different ways and what it takes to run and operate a business efficiently as a solopreneur that I can’t do anything else but think about how to bring more value to my current and future carriers and fleet owners. Now, I am at a point where I feel confident that It is time to begin hiring dispatchers and begin expanding and work on signing on more carriers and fleet owners while also working on offering more to my carrier partners and future dispatcher partners.
Like one of my mentors always says, once you master your skills, you are in a good position to duplicate yourself then scale up. I had to remain patient so I would not jump the gun and avoid making certain mistakes because some mistakes you do not come back from. I am currently training 3 future dispatchers to join the L.E.F Team and soon after we will begin working on bringing on more carriers and fleet owners and offer more services such as bookkeeping, filling their IFTA, and keeping up with their Elogs and remaining compliant overall.
I am always open to listen, learn and the possibility of partnering with investors and other business owners, that would love to take part of the transformation and future of trucking, supply chain and Logistics. I am also open to other opportunities available in the field and others. Please feel free to call or email us at (800) 584-1070 or [email protected] or visit our website at www.lef-group.com.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely has not been. The first major struggle was finding a carrier to dispatch for. It took me almost 4 months to sign on and begin dispatching my first carrier.
Other struggles have been finding the right carriers to dispatch for. As you may or may not know, owner-operators can be a bit challenging to get along with at times because they all want to make money but refuse to go where the money is at.
Lastly, another struggle has been that when their equipment breakdown, the revenue stops for both you and the carrier. And since a lot of parts are currently on backorder, it can take weeks before they get rolling again. And that’s all just to name a few!
As you know, we’re big fans of L.E.F Dispatch Services, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We believe in safety, efficiency, productivity, & integrity. L.E.F Dispatch Services provides the ultimate partnership in dispatching services for owner-operators and fleet owners. What’s next?
In the future, we plan to hire, grow our brand and bring on quality people. At that point, we will bring everyone under one roof, then continue to expand and operate nationally and grow into an asset-based brokerage, 3PL, and trucking company.
We’re also looking into the next technology that we believe the supply chain management and logistics industry can benefit from and help improve the lives of everyone as a whole.

What an awesome Owner, leader, and entrepreneur, Mr. Max has been to me. In the short time I’ve known him and worked with him I learned more about trucking than I did previously. Max has a drive and a vision for great things in the logistics trucking business and I pray God continues to bless him in all he does. Thank you for your help, time and the training you gave me. I would of definitely stayed and worked with him if my faith wasn’t leading me on a different path. Nonetheless, the most professional, proficient, patient, and hardworking person you can ever meet or work for. It was a pleasure working with this company and again I wish L.E.F Dispatch Services all the best in their future endeavors.
