Hidden Gems: Meet Matthew Robinson of Custom Floor Coatings LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Robinson.

Hi Matthew, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve Always been handy and good at working on things. My dad is a general contractor, so I grew up learning all sorts of trades. My brother-in-law worked for a large coatings company, and we started doing some garages & side jobs for friends. That was it; I was hooked!! The phone just never stopped ringing! We now have over 30k+ in machinery, offer several decorative concrete solutions, and we’re still building our brand!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing about opening your own business is easy. I went my first year without taking a paycheck! I had to work other jobs & crazy hours while building this. I just kept working hard and reinvesting my money into materials, tools, and machines. Looking back now, it was so worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cutsom Floor Coatings LLC?
