Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I came to this country, Pennsylvania, at a very young age. Both my parents worked very hard and very long hours. We moved to Lake City, Florida, where they bought a gas station. I worked alongside them for many years until I took it over. I then dabbled in other business ventures until focusing on opening a Dairy Queen in Glen St. Mary, Florida. I was able to find a great team to run the store, but my sense of worth still needed to be met. At this point in my life, my mom had passed, my dad was getting up in age, and my grandmother was very ill. While visiting my grandmother, I saw how vital a caregiver in the home was to her and my family. It was then I knew what the next chapter of my life was. I did my research on home health care before making the decision. Having like-minded people with me was also very important, so I returned to who I knew and trusted. Choosing Caring Senior Service was easy after hearing about them and the story behind the business. Being able to be there for our elderly is the most rewarding feeling. I’m excited to make a difference in the community and every home we enter. I have a young son, and I want to leave him a legacy to be proud of; this is it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning the language and culture had its challenges. But in a business, since learning the differences between states on the rules and laws on running a business. And having the patience to wait on the powers that be for permits, licenses, contractors, etc. Having people in your life that you can trust with your lively hood.
