Today we’d like to introduce you to John Panghulan.
Hi John, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is John Panghulan, Founder & Creative Director of Love Of Zen born in Jacksonville, Florida. My family migrated to the United States back in 2015. I always believed that the US is the land of opportunities. Growing up, I am always been into fashion like streetwear, sneakers & luxury brands. My style evolve throughout the years and I realized that I need to start a clothing brand. I founded Love Of Zen back in August 2020, supported by my friends and family. It was during quarantine and that is when I worked on my confidence and inner peace to believe in what I am about to do. Love Of Zen grew as a brand and as a community. Love Of Zen means the love of having peace & calm in our lives, translating it into fashion I believe that if you love yourself, you will have the confidence to wear anything you want. As a community, we also make sure to interact with our customers and have a conversation with them about what is going on with their life. Love Of Zen is now a team of three, I invited my great friends JM Quinones and Lawrenz Ola to join me in my journey and they see the vision I have for this brand. I always tell people to surround themselves with friends who have the same goals as them. My circle are go-getters. We are ready to take over. We are blessed to be in this position and will keep working to reach our dreams. Whatever it takes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a roller coaster. My recent job is to open fast food stores around the country and it would always get me out of the city. I stayed in New York for one year leaving the brand in the hands of my team. A team that is not complete is tough to function. We were not consistent with drops and we were taking a lot of breaks. After months of working, I came to the realization that I want to work on my brand, I want to make it bigger, and I want to tell people about it around the world. I quit my job of 5 years and moved back to Jacksonville. It’s been great and we’ve been on schedule with our drops. Team meetings are so important because that is when we tell each other what things to do to make us look better. We will be focusing on doing pop up events around Jacksonville and pop up in college campuses when school starts in August.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Love Of Zen?
Love Of Zen is a clothing brand born out of Jacksonville, balancing minimal designs with streetwear elements. Designed from a narrative standpoint, ZEN is both a reflection of peace and minimalism. A growing brand that will put great pieces of clothing to the world.
We specialize in streetwear clothing like Supreme, Palace, Kith & more.
I believed that one thing that sets us apart from others is our aesthetic as a brand. We tackle a specific audience and we make sure to show them that this brand is not just a regular, Love Of Zen will be here for a long time.
I am proud of our community, the people who support us every drop and wear Love Of Zen wherever they go. I always thank them for investing because I believed that they are investing in a great piece of clothing like ours.
I want them to know that we are not just a clothing brand but a community as well that will share love and peace in this city. Look out for our drops this year because it’s going to be a good year. Our website is www.loveofzenofficial.com and we offer free shipping around the US and if it’s a local order. (We deliver it ourselves to meet our customers and get to know them better.)
