My personal experience and love for ice cream inspired me to create a line of handcrafted, lactose-free ice cream that didn’t compromise on taste. Being lactose intolerant, I noticed a gap in local ice cream offerings. Options were limited, and they just didn’t capture the essence of traditional milk-based ice cream. Determined to make a difference, I began experimenting, and once my friends and family tasted the results, the demand for Scoops of Favor took off.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I faced when starting my ice cream business was sourcing high-quality, lactose-free ingredients. It was difficult to find suppliers who could consistently provide the necessary quality.
Additionally, I encountered challenges from industry doubters who questioned the need to make ice cream from scratch, suggesting instead that I use pre-made ice cream mix. However, I stayed true to my vision of creating my own ice cream base. My recipe allows me to craft flavorful, lactose-free ice cream which my customers appreciate. It also gives me the flexibility to customize and expand our offerings as needed.

Scoops of Favor is a small-batch, handcrafted ice cream company specializing in lactose-free ice cream. We pride ourselves on using premium ingredients, with no added preservatives, resulting in ice cream so creamy and flavorful that most people can’t even tell it’s lactose-free. Our careful selection of ingredients and unique churning process ensure a taste and texture that even those without lactose sensitivities prefer over competitors.
At Scoops of Favor, we’re dedicated to bringing a sweet touch to corporate events, church functions, parties, and more. We offer a variety of packages including a convenient drop-off service and an adorable ice cream cart that’s perfect for in-person events.
With over 12 flavors and counting, our most popular creations include Blessed Banana Pudding, Cookies n Cream, Peaceful Pecan, and Hallelujah, a delightful mix of caramel and brownies. Our top vegan flavors, Blueberry Bliss and Miracle Milk Chocolate, are also customer favorites.
What makes me most proud is our ability to rekindle people’s love for ice cream. For example, a customer once asked us to create a vegan Rocky Road ice cream. It had been her favorite flavor, but she hadn’t enjoyed it for five years because she couldn’t find a vegan version. Seeing her eyes light up with joy after that first bite was an unforgettable moment. It’s experiences like this that remind me why I started Scoops of Favor: to bring joy and inclusivity to everyone, no matter their dietary needs.
