I began my journey in the music industry as a music artist named “J Ozzie” in June 2009. Motivated by a deeply personal experience—the tragic murder of my big brother Michael Brooks Jr.—I founded my independent label, Suade Out Entertainment. Fueled by a passion for music and a determination to honor my brother’s memory, I began crafting my artistic identity. The creation of Suade Out Entertainment became a platform for my music and for supporting other independent artists on their creative paths. This pivotal moment in my life has shaped my career trajectory, influencing my commitment to empowering and uplifting fellow musicians. The challenges and triumphs encountered during my time as “J Ozzie” laid the foundation for my transition into the role of a Music Manager, where I could extend my support to a broader community of artists in Jacksonville, Florida, and surrounding areas.

Navigating my journey as an independent artist and professional Music Manager has presented challenges and triumphs. One notable struggle involves overcoming obstacles in securing sufficient funding for the development of independent artists. Limited financial resources create competition between local agencies and hinder the implementation of priorities in supporting artists. However, despite these challenges, I have remained dedicated to cultivating sustainable and thriving careers for independent musicians.
