Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances McMiller.
Hi Frances, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in the historic city of Gainesville, Florida, and from early on I felt called to live a life that reflected the meaning of my name—“Free One.” That sense of purpose has guided every step of my personal, academic, and professional journey.
My path began in the helping professions. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida, followed by a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. Before becoming a therapist and life coach, I gained hands‑on experience as a medical assistant, early childhood professional, and infant–child developmental specialist. Each role deepened my understanding of people, healing, and human potential.
Today, I continue expanding that foundation as I pursue my doctoral degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Capella University. My work now blends mental health, leadership development, and organizational wellness.
As a life coach and therapist, I’ve been blessed to publish my first book, Mask Off: Embracing Self‑Care from the Inside Out, along with my Speak Life Into Yourself affirmation cards and my Manifest journal. These tools reflect my belief that healing and transformation begin internally and radiate outward.
My mission is simple but powerful: to help people identify the places within themselves that need healing, rediscover their purpose, and step boldly into their destiny. With a strong Christian foundation, I use my gifts and wisdom to support clients through both personal and professional growth.
As a proud mother of two children with special abilities, I’m equally passionate about helping individuals and business owners build healthier work/life balance. I believe that when people are supported holistically—mind, body, spirit, and environment—they thrive in every area of life.
That journey—rooted in service, faith, resilience, and purpose—is what brought me to where I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. My journey has included its share of challenges, setbacks, and unexpected detours. I’ve had to restart my business more than once, rebuild parts of my life—both naturally and spiritually—and navigate seasons of loss, healing, and recovery from life’s storms. There were moments when the path felt unclear and moments when I had to pause, regroup, and begin again.
But every challenge has shaped me. Each restart taught me something new about perseverance. Each spiritual and personal hurdle strengthened my faith. Each storm revealed a deeper layer of resilience and purpose within me. Looking back, I’m genuinely grateful for the experiences that stretched me, because they laid the foundation I stand on today.
Those difficult seasons didn’t break me—they prepared me. They refined my voice, deepened my compassion, and equipped me to serve others with authenticity, wisdom, and grace as I continue moving forward.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Puzzled Peace Inc. is my counseling, coaching, and consulting private practice—built from the belief that every person carries pieces of their story that deserve to be understood, healed, and aligned. My mission is to help clients put those pieces together so they can experience wholeness, clarity, and purpose in both their personal and professional lives.
At Puzzled Peace, I offer a unique blend of services that integrate the natural and spiritual sides of healing. As a licensed mental health professional, certified life coach, and Christian‑based practitioner, I’m able to meet clients where they are—emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and even organizationally. This allows me to serve as a “first responder” in many different ways, whether someone needs therapeutic support, life direction, leadership development, or guidance through a major transition.
I’m known for equipping clients with practical tools that create real transformation. Over the years, I’ve expanded my offerings to include books, journals, and affirmation cards—resources designed to help people speak life into themselves and build healthier habits from the inside out. I recently launched a new Mental Health & Wealth course, along with a coaching certification and mentorship program for individuals who feel called to coach and support others. These programs allow me to pour into the next generation of helpers, leaders, and purpose‑driven professionals.
What sets Puzzled Peace apart is the holistic approach. I don’t just focus on one area of a person’s life—I help them align all the pieces. My work blends clinical insight, spiritual grounding, lived experience, and practical strategy. Clients often share that they feel seen, supported, and empowered in ways they haven’t experienced elsewhere.
Brand‑wise, I’m most proud of the authenticity behind everything I create. My books, courses, and programs are born from real life, real healing, and real faith. I want readers and clients to know that Puzzled Peace is more than a business—it’s a safe space for growth, restoration, and transformation. Whether someone is seeking counseling, coaching, mentorship, or tools for daily empowerment, my goal is to help them move forward with confidence and peace.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost, I owe everything to God. Every step of my journey—every open door, every lesson, every moment of strength—has been guided by Him. Nothing I’ve built would exist without His grace, direction, and timing.
Along the way, God has strategically placed the right people in my life at the exact moments I needed them. My family and friends have been constant sources of encouragement, reminding me of who I am and what I’m called to do. My mentors, spiritual parents, and advisors have poured wisdom, accountability, and spiritual covering into me, helping me grow not just as a professional, but as a woman of purpose.
I’m also deeply grateful for my extended community—clients, supporters, and those who believed in my vision even before it was fully formed. Each person has played a role in shaping my journey, challenging me, supporting me, and helping me step into the fullness of my calling.
Every voice, every prayer, every push, and every piece of guidance has contributed to the success of my business and the woman I am becoming. I carry all of them with me as I continue to grow, serve, and build.
