Today we’d like to introduce you to Elva Chase, BCCC.
Hi Elva, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I didn’t come into counseling from a textbook first, I came through lived experience. Before becoming a board-certified Christian counselor, I survived domestic violence, a marriage with a covert narcissist, and a season of homelessness. Those experiences stripped me down emotionally, spiritually, and practically. I remember crying out to God not just for escape, but for understanding. I wanted to know why these patterns happen and how people actually heal, not just survive.
Walking through trauma firsthand gave me compassion you can’t learn in a classroom. God used my darkest seasons to redirect my life toward helping others who feel trapped, unseen, or broken. My journey into counseling became a calling to bring faith, truth, and practical healing to people who think their story is over, because I know personally that it isn’t.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. It has been anything but smooth. Healing wasn’t linear, and there were seasons where I was doing the work while still carrying unresolved pain. I struggled with rebuilding trust, learning my worth after emotional and spiritual abuse, and unlearning survival patterns that once kept me safe. Being homeless with my children tested my faith in ways I never imagined and forced me to rely on God daily, not hypothetically but literally.
There were moments of doubt, exhaustion, and even questioning my calling. But every struggle refined me. Those hardships shaped how I sit with people now, with patience, humility, and deep empathy. I don’t offer quick fixes because I know real healing takes time, truth, and grace.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Through ElvaChase.com, I provide faith-based counseling, coaching, and education for individuals healing from trauma, depression, anxiety, narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, and spiritual wounds. I specialize in helping people reconnect with God while also rebuilding identity, boundaries, and emotional health. My work blends biblical truth with trauma-informed care, because faith without practical tools leaves people stuck, and tools without faith often leave people empty.
Through Precious Hearts Foundation, the mission is outreach and restoration. We serve individuals, women, and families, to include men who are navigating abuse recovery, displacement, and crisis situations. The focus is safety, dignity, emotional support, and helping people move from survival to stability. This organization exists because I know what it’s like to fall through the cracks and still need hope.
What sets both brands apart is that they are rooted in lived experience, not theory. I don’t speak at people; I walk with them. I understand trauma, faith struggles, and rebuilding from the ground up because I’ve lived it. I’m most proud that my brands create safe, honest spaces where people don’t have to minimize their pain to belong.
What I want readers to know is this: my work is about restoration, not perfection. Whether through counseling, coaching, or community outreach, everything I do is centered on helping people heal deeply, reclaim their voice, and know that God still has purpose for their life, even after devastation.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that survival is not the same as healing. For a long time, I was strong because I had to be, but God showed me that strength without healing still leaves wounds. True freedom came when I allowed myself to slow down, tell the truth about my pain, and let God meet me there instead of rushing past it.
I’ve also learned that boundaries are not unloving, they are biblical, and that obedience to God will sometimes cost you people, comfort, and familiarity. But it will always lead you closer to wholeness. That lesson shapes both my life and my work every day.
