Hidden Gems: Meet Elizabeth & Paul Cassutti of IMAGE Studios Jacksonville & St Johns

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth & Paul Cassutti.

Hi Elizabeth & Paul, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We were both Naval officers serving on a ship out in Japan when we met. Elizabeth was a Supply Corps Officer specializing in logistics and finance while Paul was a Surface Warfare Officer driving ships. Elizabeth left the service after 10 years to stay home with our two boys and began buying and renovating rental properties in the local Jacksonville area.

Once Paul retired, we knew we wanted to own a business and worked with a consultant to find what might suit us. He suggested IMAGE Studios – a unique real estate opportunity in the beauty and wellness space. We absolutely fell in love with the concept and the brand for a few reasons: the design is modern and beautiful, but more importantly, we get to work with other entrepreneurs!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not! Commercial real estate can be tough. We have very unique needs in a building for our studios and it takes time to find the perfect location. And, you don’t always think about all of the things that can go wrong in a physical building with large plumbing and mechanical systems. We pride ourselves on responding quickly to any issues that arise, but you do feel like a firefighter on call at all times!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about IMAGE Studios Jacksonville & St Johns?
IMAGE Studios was designed for beauty and wellness industry professionals, making it possible to have their own salon and be their own boss without the usual expense, headache and hassle of owning a traditional salon. Our concept is simple: we provide an incredible space and atmosphere – they bring their passions, talent and clientele.

We pride ourselves on the high level of service and attention we pay to our professionals. 5 minutes is our target timeframe to let our pros know we’ve heard any concerns they’ve raised and are actively working a resolution. They come in each day to serve their clients and they are counting on us to make sure their space is operating as it should.

You’ll be hard pressed to find another studio that looks and functions like ours. Not only does it wow from the first time you enter, but the electrical, plumbing, parking, amenities, and flow of the space set us apart. And we’re not just for hairstylists! We’re proud of our collective comprised of Estheticians, Barbers, PMU artists, Tattoo artists, a Japanese Head Spa, Med Spas, Massage Therapists, boutiques and more!

At the time of writing, we’re just days away from opening our newest location in St Johns on Race Track Rd. It’s been a long project to build this studio to our standards, and soon we’ll be welcoming over 35 small, mostly women owned businesses. We love to empower these fiercely independent professionals and hope that you will consider coming in for a service!

What makes you happy?
We love to spend time together as a family! Traveling is top of the list, but the simple things we do together bring us joy on a daily basis. Game night, campfires in the backyard with some music and the dog running around. Watching our boys play baseball and riding their bikes in the neighborhood. As a family we’ve recently gotten into tennis and enjoy a little competition on the court!

Pricing:

  • Our studios are more affordable than you might think! The weekly price of a suite usually corresponds to one or two hair services.
  • Most established commission stylists don’t realize that they are paying over $1,000 per week to use a chair in a salon. When we run the numbers, they’re usually shocked by how affordable our suites are by comparison.
