Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Erica Hamburger.
Hi Dr. Erica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a southern gal, born and raised in New Orleans. As a little girl I just loved to serve and help! I started with working at the zoo, cleaning beaches, and then became a pre-med major in college. I became a licensed physician on a mission to help people holistically with their health.
Today I am so honored to have guided many patients over my 20 years in practice, on their journey in health through holistic means: Chiropractic, Animal Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Functional Medicine! My husband and I will be opening a Wellness Healing Center soon in St. Johns County within the year!
Many years ago, my southern roots were calling my name to start working more with children in a another capacity, besides their health! This is what led me to ultimately create my own curriculum for Modernized Manners, etiquette, and mindset. I launched my program, Modern E Manners, here in Northeast Florida 2 years ago. I have been so blessed with such great success and impacting so many so far! I offer a Cotillion programs for grades 2-12, Teen Etiquette Dinners, High Teas, and a Teddy Bear Tea. We teach the basics of our manners and etiquette culture and dive deep into helping our future generations have the utmost confidence, serve our communities, become world changers, and move mountains with positive mindset and more! Helping our youth stand out in our big world is essential and we equip them with these life skills through our programs!
I hope to take this program to new heights in the near future, other cities, and expand our reach in other ways to serve in so many more capacities.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I went through 911 and Katrina. These 2 experiences formed me into a stronger and more resilient women to make waves to help more!!
During 911: It was my first time in NYC. I was only a few blocks from the WTC and sadly watched the 2nd plan hit. Then saw those jumping from the building, emergency vehicles going to save and not coming out, and thankfully with the buildings falling we were able to sprint to safety.
During Katrina: I was living with my parents after just graduating a few months after earning my Doctorate.
We stayed in my parents’ home in lakeview, NOLA and “rode the storm out”. The aftermath was the disaster that came with flooding and more. This is quite a story, but ultimately we ended up losing everything and starting completely over, swam out of our homes, and took a bit to get back on all of our feet.
These shaped me and then I started my own practice shortly after in New Orleans, met my hubby, Moved to Austin, TX and practiced there with my husband, we had our 1st child, moved back to New Orleans’ north shore and had a practice there. We then had our 2nd and 3rd children. We were so blessed and grateful for Austin and NOLA, yet time to move on… to FLORIDA 🙂 We moved to FLORIDA in July 2022. The rest is history… we are creating a beautiful life with our sweet family here, helping many through health, mindset, and more!
As you know, we’re big fans of Modern E Manners + The Hive: A restorative wellness collective . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
# 1 Modern E Manners:
Here is a write up on Modern Manners by St. John’s social:
Dr. Erica Manger Hamburger, manners, respect, and kindness are three of the most important attributes in a human being. Born and raised in the deep south, specifically New Orleans, those three elements were embedded into her persona almost before she learned to walk. “Now as I raise my own three children,”
says Dr. Erica, “I realize even more today that, not only are manners and etiquette important, but empowering our children with confidence and strength as they make their way into the real world is paramount in today’s often harsh social environment.”
A Holistic Family Doctor for nineteen years, Dr. Erica has devoted her life to helping families become their own healthcare advo- cates by teaching the art of critical thinking. “I realized my deep passion for education when I was teaching anatomy and physiology to pre-nursing students,” she says. Dr. Erica’s extensive education through chiropractic school as well as through the University of New Orleans has led her to success in the Chiropractic and Holistic Medicine fields. Through those successes and the experience she has gained in her practices, Dr. Erica is able to impart her treasure chest of values
upon the youth of St. Johns County through Modern E Manners.
Today, Dr. Erica takes what she learned through her own upbringing and passion for teaching, and offers these vital teachings to the youth. Through her curated programs at Modern E Manners in Ponte Vedra, students from 1st grade through 12th grade can learn and utilize crucial values that seem to have diminished greatly in today’s society. “We are educating kids on the essentials of life,” says Dr. Erica. “Here, we teach critical val- ues that they will carry through their entire lives, such as manners, etiquette, emotional intelligence, and even social dance!”
Preparing for the 2024/2025 school year, Modern E Manners will be offering pro- grams for all grade levels. 1st through 5th graders will join the Beginner’s Cotillion, 6th through 8th graders will comprise the Intermediate Cotillion, while 9th through 12th graders will join the Advanced Cotil- lion. “We will dive into amazing topics that will give your kids the confidence to move Mountains,” says Dr. Erica. “Join the Manners Movement!”

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I truly believe that LUCK is related to MINDSET. What we believe will happen, will happen. I feel when we think life gives us “bad luck” it’s actually a learning lesson.
Good luck is a sign you are on the right track… keep going 🙂
