Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie & Dave Weeks.
Hi Annie & Dave, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Dave and I both grew up as theater-loving kids with a passion for performing and storytelling. After college, we each pursued careers in the arts, searching for a path would allow us to combine creativity, connection, and meaningful work. We discovered ballroom dancing and Arthur Murray and were immediately captivated.
What began as a shared passion evolved into our profession. Over the past decade, we have built careers within the company – developing teaching and leadership skills alongside our dancing. We have had the privilege of helping hundreds of students achieve goals ranging from feeling comfortable at weddings and social events to performances and competitions.
Most recently, we fulfilled a lifetime dream by taking ownership of Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Ponte Vedra Beach. Together, we are focused on creating an environment where students can build confidence, find community, and experience the joy of dancing. We feel incredibly fortunate to help others discover the same thing that dance has done for us – that dance has the power to transform lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our journey has been incredibly rewarding, but it has certainly not been without its challenges. Like many people pursuing careers in a creative field, we faced uncertainty on how to turn passion into a profession. Building a career in dance required long hours, constant learning, and a willingness to step far outside our comfort zone. There is always another level to reach. We are constantly challenged to grow, refine skills, and become better versions of ourselves. However, that ongoing pursuit of improvement is also one of things we love most.
